This thread has given a little insight to posters political beliefs. Interesting.

I hate the cap. Personally, I think the market is too regulated in this game. What is this, China?!?!?!

Yea madden does not have a cap and it sux. Pay 10mil for one card. I like the cap. I don’t have the answer but I do know something has to change. The best players in this game should be rewarded for being that good but cards like that should not be locked away where most won’t be able to use them. Lou Gehrig is one of my favorite all time players and I won’t get to use him because I can’t beat the extreme showdown or a few extreme challenges to save my life. Not cool
Do you not have 3800 stubs? You can buy Gehrig in the market and play with him all you want to.
Oh hey you! Aren’t you so excited for the upcoming “ Let the Kids Play” event.
Do what? Is Gehrig an event reward for that? Not seeing the connection
SORRY I DIDNT SAY THAT LOUD ENOUGH. NOTHING TO DO WITH GEHRIG, I WAS JUST ASKING HOW EXCITED YOU WERE FOR THE NEW EVENT WITH ALL THESE GREAT FUTURE STARS CARDS

I think we're confusing "exclusive" and "rare" with "best." For the most part, I think SDS does a good job about making sure the BR and WS cards aren't necessarily the "best" in the game. There are obv some exceptions (Willie, Wagner, maybe Chiperoo), but I don't think many people would call Gary Carter, Johnny Bench, Roberto Alomar, Rickey, Bob Feller, etc. to be the "best" cards in the game.
I think we would all have a very valid beef if SDS only handed out a very small and limited number of Finest Soto, PotM Tatis, Mantle, Trout, Foxx, Griffey, Kluber, Babe, etc. I doubt anyone would quiver in their little pink panties if they face an opponent with Johnny Bench, Casey Mize, Pujols, and Eddie Mathews or whatever.
Agreed. I still don't understand why the 94 Zobrist, other than being in short supply, is so expensive. Doesn't make anyone's roster with all the 99s floating around and even with the multi position eligibility, that alone surely doesn't make him useful enough to justify spending 200,000+ on him?

Well said....and having Chipper, he definitely is not even close to the best 3rd base option....and SDS has given everyone access to Machado who blows him away in every regard

And be careful what you ask for....anyone can work themselves to 1 million stubs, but eliminate the caps of what you pay and what you can earn, and the people who are already crazy flippers will go even crazier, and the costs will go sky high..... plus, keep in mind SDS is in this to make money, selling stubs.....people will buy if they feel they can realistically get cards they want.....No cap, the crazies will take a large part of those willing to buy stubs out of the market....

Collectors. It's because he is rare, that he's expensive. His stats make no difference at this point, as not having him leaves a hole in a collection. Compounding his rarity is the fact that a number of people who have him, no longer play the game.

That you can say Machado blows him away in every aspect, just goes to show what's wrong with this year's game. I have Machado, but he'll never play over Chipper. Chipper may not have the better card, but he's the better player, and I'll take the hit to put the more deserving player on the field.

Machado’s swing is absolute garbage too. He might be the most overrated card in the entire game. I’ve rolled with an all finest squad in RS this season and have hit over .300 with The entire lineup of Lindor, Mookie, Soto, Perez, Yaz, Candelario, and Marte. Machado is hitting .214 for me(all these games are on allstar mind you and Perez is hitting .588 with an 1.900 OPS. If I knew I would get him I would certainly choose Chipper over Machado.

Just remove the stub cap on those cards so there isn’t a line. I’ll gladly pay over 2 million for Mays if I could
If you removed the cap, 5 mil would be the cap, and there would still be a line

I really doubt it man. While there is quite a few people that have 3 mil+, I’m willing to bet that most of the Mays/Chipper/Wagner orders come from people with just over a million and they drained their stub balance just to put orders in. The only people that have even close to 5 million stubs are a select few on this forum/content creators/BR gods. I could be wrong obviously but I’m willing to bet the amount of players that have 1-2 million stubs is a lot higher than the players that have 2.5 mil+

That’s you than, as myself and almost everyone I play are hitting close to .400 with him. Now I suck with Chipper, so maybe I am the Anomaly there.
