Anyone else trying to make WS?

Ended up going 7-2 today and ended at 737. Highest I’ve been this year. Stopping now so I don’t get mad at myself for playing one too many. Hope you guys had some luck too.
-
Went 12-7 for the weekend. Ended at 780. Have only played two game on HOF (1-1), but didn’t feel totally overmatched.
I know most of you guys don’t care, but I’m kinda keeping track for my own sake. Also, maybe some of you will be inspired to be a first timer.
At this point, WS seems like a possibility at least. I’m not saying it’s likely, but I’m saying there’s a chance.
Let me know how you guys are doing.

Well done, buddy! Keep it going.... I have been playing pretty much exclusive events as I work to Prestige a bunch of guys for end game..,don’t even care about the wins but think I am at 46.....did boot up one ranked game today, but the guy sent me a friendly quit invite right away, and since he had Pearson pitching and I wasn’t sure if it was AS or HOF ( didn’t want to be chasing that HOF heater all game after all the AS events), I granted it and headed back to events....
-
780! You are well on your way @mathman5072. I went 3 and 4 today. Was playing pretty well. Lost 2 on disconnects where I was up and feeling good about winning... It's taking the wind out of my sails honestly. Lost another two to guys who hit everything. I got to figure out why I keep getting dc'd though.

Emotional roller coaster the past 24 hours. 3-3 in my last 6, with 4 games decided by 1 run. I managed to pick up 13 ranking points in the process and up to 836

When I get in the mid 800s, this is what happens to me. Hit that .500 world and am stuck in purgatory

Those of you that are pushing hard for WS how many are using monitors and how many using tv’s

@MathMan5072 I keep bouncing around the 600s and low 700s. Feeling like I need to hit better to go further. I have noticed I take less pitches than my opponents. Think I will try to be more patient and see if that helps me score more consistently. I've been having a lot of fun. If you dont have Joe Morgan, I'd recommend trying him out. Hes a force. I've been blown away by his exit velocities
After every loss I always tell myself I’m going to be more patient. I forget that it’s okay to take a strike when it’s not the pitch you’re looking for. After a loss today I messaged the other guy and said I wish I could take pitches like he does.
I'm the same way. I feel like I need to prove to somebody that I can cover the whole strike zone. So I try and end up making weak contact or missing a bunch of pitches and bumping up the pitchers confidence lol. I may try cbrev's method of picking three guys who dont swing until 1 strike, 3 guys who swing after strike 2, and 3 guys who go up hacking
Never saw that video, but thats a very cool concept. May have to try this myself

2 of the wins were WS guys which I used to stand no chance against. So I’m definitely getting more competitive. Thinking +4-5 in win column from here out gets me there. Just need to hope for the matchups lol

Using a TV. Hate to say it, but I’m on the “I’ll only play home games” kick to ensure that I don’t play in a major league stadium. I have solid WiFi and TV on game mode so I never experience lag. Making sure I play at home is key though. Might be cheesy, but I can’t risk playing in a major league park while it rains. I’ll have no chance to hit anything and be guaranteed to lose.

I’m a monitor I got about 6-7 weeks ago. I wouldn’t say changing was night and day, but I guess it helps no think part of it is that I’m so closed to it as opposed to the tv hanging on the wall.

This is how i feel. at least I have a chance. I’ve been on a tear the last three days, but I have mostly been matched up with people ranked below me. I just made cs at 804 against someone barely in 700. I’m hoping 6-7 over 500 for the next two weeks will get me there.

I don’t know if I will make it to the end without having a heart attack. I won both my games today. The first one I felt in control for most of the game and won 4-0.
In the second game I was down 5-0 going into the seventh. I score 4 in the seventh and the then 1 in the ninth to force extras. Ended up winning 7-5 in the tenth.
I’m now at 822 which about matches my blood pressure.
But now, question for anyone who has read this far. I love everyone in my lineup except Rollins. He bats lead off for me but I don’t think I’ve gotten more than a couple hits since I started playing hall of fame. Even when I’m on it, he doesn’t seem to hit it hard. Do I mess with a winning lineup at this point or keep him there until I hit a skid? I think his replacement would be Ozzie Smith.

Both are booty but Rollins is better than Ozzie by a mile. Ozzie is superb in the field but horrible offensively. He will definitely not help you

Thanks. That’s kinda what I’m thinking. I just don’t want to change my order. I like where everyone lines up. Hopefully, Rollins can turn it around.

If you’re struggling with him, I suggest you take until two strikes. You’d be surprised how many times he’ll get walked. Just a suggestion

After reading a post by @sbevans142 earlier in this thread I am forcing myself to take a lot more pitches. I do that with him the first time up and I pretty much take at least one strike with everyone the first time through. It has definitely helped. Even if I don’t get on base, the other guy usually runs up his pitch count a little. Maybe I’ll just force myself to always take two strikes with him. I think I’ve pretty much been doing that anyway. Thanks for the help.

I am 50 yrs, and have made the CS a few times over the years, but never the WS. I was about nine or ten points away from the WS last year, before I got demolished.
I have avoided going for it this year, but may still give it a go before the next game comes out. My reflexes and vision are not as good as they used to be, but I enjoy collecting the cards, putting together a good team, and competing whenever I can.
If the online RS H2H quality of gameplay was as smooth as the offline vs cpu, then I may be more interested in giving it a go. However, the poor online gameplay, the latency issues, the various pitch speeds, the cheesers, the dashboarders, etc...takes away a lot if the enjoyment of online competitive gameplay for me.

You captured my exact thinking...>Don't know why RS games become so stressful and not fun, but they sure do for me......This season I have been playing more events and friendlies and have been able to play without care or the stress that RS brings.....
