Catcher Help

For the life of me I cannot get comfortable with a catcher. Posada was prob my longest tenured but I’ve been on a major slump with him and his defense is horrible. Was thinking of grinding a CAP but i don’t think it’ll be worth the grind.
Any other suggestions to some underrated cards? Grandal has been ok so far but i prefer some speed. HALPPPP

I have used Posada for the longest time and yet to find a replacement. Foxx bat is insane but defense is flat out horrible. I have been having success with the new Salvy so he might replace Posada. Give him a try

I've been using Pudge for a while and his defense is second to none from my experience. I've gone through a handful of catchers throughout the game and have had the most success with Pudge. I can't really hit to save my life with too many cards to begin with so I figure why not go with the best defensive option. Pudge gets his share of base hits for me but I don't hit for a ton of power with him.
If speed is what you're looking for at that position then I would say go with Biggio. Realmuto and Jason Kendall also have pretty decent speed for catchers too if I remember correctly.

Just like last year's Pudge, i can get singles and doubles, but not many HRs

Exactly. I used Pudge last year too for a long time as my catcher and it was the same thing. His D was/is great though and since I'm not much of a hitter in this game to begin with I'll take his D and base hits.

I made a catcher. Negro Leagues legend, Josh Gibson - but I made him a switch hitter, PLUS, you get to pick your own batting stance. Play around with what stance you like..
93 contact, 116 pwr from both sides of the plate, if u have the patience to do all the missions, go for it, well worth it! -
2020 postseason Travis D’Arnaud has been my catcher since he came out. He hits just as good as Foxx for me without being a defensive liability.

I’m on the the Jason Kendall bandwagon right now. He seems to always get on base. He doesn’t seem to hit the ball out of the park, but seems to hit the ball solid.
I bat him eighth with the idea that he can turn a lineup over consistently.

Jimmy Foxx rakes but his defense is not that great. Pudge is a beast on defense. Biggio is your best speed option. Finest Realmutto might be a great all around option but I have not unlocked him yet.

I recently went back to pudge after having the same problem. Foxxs defense just doesn't get the job done. Batting pudge 8th is perfect. People aren't afraid to pitch to him, which might be why he takes for me. He's been so clutch for me. He hit a go ahead 2 run hr for me to win my my ws game for Mays

Finest Sal Perez is your answer if you're scared of Foxx's defense, good sir. Enjoy.
Edit: if you're hell-bent on some speed, I've used TN Alfaro for fun and he's been great. I'd never use him full-time over the aforementioned two though.
