It’s not that the pitchers released early in the year are easy to read as of this point in the year. The problem is, as the year wore on, stats got more juiced. Now the best cards of guys like Glavine and Hershiser tend to lose heavily in the stat vs stat RNG dice rolls, as the high 90s/low 100 numbers don’t win as many dice rolls against these all 125 hitters. Maybe. Who knows?

You could farm the TA conquest maps for a lot more stubs. Don't play any games, just take over all the territories besides the strongholds. You get 5 standard packs, 3 Ballin and a Prospects pack from each map. Plus over 3k in stubs.
Doesn't take that long to sim, and with golds being so high you get about 15k total a map for doing it. Wood was my 5th starter, but I bumped him for deGrom. Wood is a very good card though.
