SDS - Tutorial mode for 21 would be good
-
So one of my friends started playing the show for the first time about a month ago. He is the very definition of casual. He doesn’t follow on social media, doesn’t watch streamers or content creators on you tube, Doesn’t go to message boards, ect. Just plugs & plays when he feels like it....Anyways, He asked me to call him because he wasn’t understanding things & had questions. As he was asking me stuff it dawned on me that this is a very badly explained game...Like he asked why he gave up so many homers with Christy Matthewson when his homers per 9 are off the charts? I explained how that stat isn’t real in online play. He was puzzled & said well how would I know that? And that’s a great point - How would he know that? There’s nothing in the game itself that says that. We all only know because one of the devs mentioned it in one stream. The same goes with hitting. All the instructions in the game say is what buttons each corresponds to. But it doesn’t explain directional & analog as far as what to do if you’re swinging for left field homer or a single up the middle. People figure stuff out & share it on you tube or on here but there’s no way for average Joes to know this stuff. I think SDS needs to have tutorials to explain everything & then spring training where you have to execute what you were just taught & you unlock a trophy for each one...Something like that. And also have a page in the instructions that explain each attribute & what modes it actually effects. I see no downside to this and would help everyone understand how everything works.

There's going to be A LOT of hand-holding next year given the move to the new consoles.

Agreed. There is a tutorial at the beginning of DD, but it isn't detailed that much. @JediOfArgonath good idea!
