When is the market most active for flipping?
-
I am looking to go on a flipping rampage to get Mantle. I did the same for the PS cards yesterday, and made 60K. Hoping to make more today, if I get on at the right time.

Beginning of the year

Beginning of the year
Haha. I mean what time of day.

Evenings and weekends. Beware of market crashes on content and pack release days, it takes the market days to recover and you’ll either make a loss if you’re over invested, or be stuck holding inventory for days. Clear out inventory the day before and buy as much as you can afford when prices are low, they almost always bounce back to some extent, which is your profit.

And there is some content coming tomorrow?

Whitey Ford expires, so maybe. Beware the headliner bundles returning and destroying the value of Scherzer.

Fine for me.
I will probs buy him when he goes lower. I will have to try and get Cole and Verlander before then, in case there is a flash sale or stub sale...

Flash sales are great. Buy everything at quick sell value and flip it back over the course of a week or so at huge profits. Keep stubs handy for those.

Sometimes market crashes actually are a good thing. I flip regardless of day, time or market status. When prices go down, cards flip faster. When they are higher, they flip slower.

So if I can, get on later tonight? Around 7ET? Because then people in all time zones in the US will be off of work. Or most people.
-
I just have 2 cards that I am flipping, made around 30K. My goal is to get 200K tonight. I doubt it will happen. if anyone has any tips, or an easy way to easily get that amount of stubs via flipping, let me know. I know that there are some market wizards that make 500K in 3 hrs. HOW. I have spent 5 hours off and on flipping today, probably longer, and not made anywhere near that. lol

Flip more than two cards. It’s way quicker to buy and sell a dozen cards for 3k each than to flip a single card with low supply and demand for 36k once. Place buy orders for anything and everything with a margin greater than 10%, that’s either reasonably useable in a H2H lineup, has recently been released, or forms part of a popular recent collection, like J-Ram POTM. These cards move faster than most.
Then go make a sandwich, run to the store, drop and give me fifty push ups, you know, whatever. Just kill a little time, let the orders fill. Then go back into your active orders and cancel everything that didn’t fill. Then go into your completed orders and list everything you’ve brought. Then go make another sandwich. Spank then monkey or whatever you do. Let the orders go through. Then return, check what didn’t sell. Go through them and undercut everyone by one stub. Go back through and place buy orders as you did originally. Make a sandwich. You get the idea. You’re gonna be eating a lot of sandwiches in the next week or two.

LOL. I just had a sandwich, so I think I will wait for another.

In demand cards move faster but have smaller margins. If you understand that then you’ll get to 200k in no time.
-
As others have pointed out: In demand cards. Ones for collections that are people are trying to do in particular.
Sure you can get good margins from various other cards, but if they dont sell much, you'll have to wait a while and may have to re-adjust your price from being undercut multiple times.
What I would advise is targeting cards that are selling alot - multiple ones a minute if possible. This way, you can put in a few orders and chances are some of them might get filled. Also keep an eye on when these cards at their lowest price and buy them if you can. Usually within an hour or two they might fluctuate back to near their original price.
Sometimes you get lucky too. Some guy posted a Byron Buxton for 27k buy now price. The next closest was around 36k. I immediately bought it. I posted it and it sold like two minutes later which surprised me:
Byron Buxton Sold for 36,890 10/15/2020 8:53PM CDT
Byron Buxton Bought for 27,000 10/15/2020 8:51PM CDT -
