The ball is hit towards the 1B and he has to make a few steps away from the bag to make the play. The pitcher comes over to cover the bag to force out the runner, but the 1B doesn't throw the ball. Happened 3 times already and the runner beats it out as a result.

Is fielding ever going to work 100% as intended? I mean how hard can it be. Only took 4 months to fix the outfield BS, but somehow new errors always find a way back into the game and I don't know how. There hasn't been a gameplay patch in a while now and I've never seen this before?

I've also noticed lately a similar issue with 1st basemen on balls hit the 2nd base side. After fielding the ball he will take a few steps towards 1st as if he plans on making the play himself, then toss to the pitcher. When he does throw to the pitcher it's this awkward, slow, underhanded animation and the ball is tossed in a high arc as if he is pitching in slow-pitch. The base runner obviously beats it out.

By chance are you using Ruth at 1? Maybe there's something common we can figure out.

That's happened to me since the beginning, it's a rare occurrence, but it's been a bug for awhile

Oh okay, I haven't seen it before and just now in the last week it happened multiple times. But still, all the more reason to question why this is still a thing if it's been in the game for so long.

Probably not unless they move to a new game engine or something. At this point, their code is so f'd from patches that they will forever be making fixes to their fixes.

No I'm using Gehrig but it happened with multiple guys.

Pitchers don’t drop the ball enough from the feed from the 1B. Pitchers have mostly common fielding and they never drop the ball on that play. So unrealistic.

I've seen this recently happen to my opponent as well.

I feel like that's just adding in to much rng, if i get a green throw, why should the pitcher still drop it?

    They shouldn't.

My favorite is when they bunt it right to the pitcher but instead of picking it up he runs over it on his way to 1st and the 1st baseman (who they give control of instead of the pitcher) ends up in the dugout.

In a game this complex 100% is never attainable. Even more so given the short dev cycle.

GTAV is seven years old and they’re still fixing bugs.

Did you really just compare the complexity of GTA V to the complexity of MLB The Show? Every other few weeks I read something on this forum and I think to myself: "wow, this is definitely the most ridiculous thing I've seen around here", and then I laugh a little and sigh afterwards while concluding that it probably won't get any better than this.
And then someone like you comes around with a statement like this. Unbelievable.

I am. Common sense tells me there’s no point arguing with those who play the ‘how hard is it to make a game’ card so I’m moving on.

My friend, I’ve respected many a post of yours over the last year or so, I hope you can reciprocate.

I didn't mean any disrespect towards you nor did I say that developing video games is easy by any means, but comparing a game like GTA V to this game is ludicrous.

I’m not convinced on any of those three points (below I’ve listed why) but ok then.

    1. ‘Someone like you... Unbelievable.’
    2. ‘How hard can it be’.
    3. They are both very complex games in very different ways.
