I'm just trying to say that SDS is just basically giving it to us now, and they are just giving everyone unlimited stubs. That's not supposed to happen in my opinion.
But on Thursday, before Run It Back released, the option to play infinite 8th inning showdowns was there, for which you’d have received a number of packs, including BIAH and headliners, plus stubs and XP, which would have netted you infinite stubs as well. Was that not supposed to happen either?

Fair enough. -

Fair enough.Honestly, it’s not going to be as much of an issue as you think it will be, because unlimited stubs was always a thing. I can make 3-400k per day just flipping.
-
@ComebackLogic
If you have the time for that. I don't. -

@ComebackLogic
If you have the time for that. I don't.You don’t? That explains why you’re salty about the Run It Back then. If you don’t have time to place a few buy orders, do something else with your life while they go through and then repeat the process but with sell orders, I doubt you have time to complete the conquest or showdown. Here’s the thing about flipping, it’s a passive method of making stubs. You don’t have to do a single thing except place the orders, it’s not like you’re grinding showdowns, lol.

I just sold Baez for 33K or something. I'll take that, he'll be worth half in a few days.
-
@ComebackLogic
Well, I'm not exactly SALTY about it, it just doesn't make sense to me why they would do that. And I'm saying that I don't have time to do it because for me, my orders NEVER go through, and they always get beaten out, and it's just too much of a hassle. -

I just did the conquest map for the packs etc. Think I sold Lee Smith for 22k, also pulled Mike Scott for another 20k. Trouble is, stubs aren’t much use at the minute, there’s nobody to buy and I think the guys we’re all waiting for are going to be TA4, not finest.

@ComebackLogic
What are the packs in the conquest map? -

Exactly, I pulled Arenado from a ballin pack in the conquest map, but I already have more stubs then I know what to do with, I was really hoping they would drop some great choice pack in the shop or something, I haven't gotten excited about anything in the market in awhile.

Ok thanks.

I don’t have a ton of stubs actually, around 250k, but I don’t worry about it too much, because I have pretty much all the cards I want. I think there is a choice pack in the wings, probably something like a 40k pack with high diamonds, limited purchase, blah blah. There’s also Finest, which could potentially put packs in the store, with the Topps Now being so juiced in terms of stats, a lot of the Finest cards may not be as relevant this year as years past, 125 power is the norm now, it seems.

I definitely think they went overboard with the attributes in Topps Now. Pretty silly at this point.

Yeah but have you ever stopped to think your opinion sucks?

@Ikasnu
I would rather appreciate it if you would NOT insult me. That would be nice. All I'm trying to say is that it will absolutely destroy the market. I mean, think about it. There IS a reason that they HAVEN'T done this before.. -

@ComebackLogic
Ok, I will explain. Here goes:
If everyone had the ability to farm unlimited stubs so easily (I don't consider flipping easy), everybody would have all the good cards in the game, like Mickey Mantle, and Mike Trout. I understand that SDS wants people to have those cards, but it also gets to a point where it's just too much. If everyone could farm those stubs, everyone would have cards like that, removing the sense of accomplishment for the people who HAVE completed it, because the whole point of LS collection and LAF collection (In my opinion), is to be a show of strength and perseverance, to show "Hey, I have took the time to grind for these cards, and to do the steps necessary to get them." I feel like it would take away from that sense of accomplishment, because it goes from being hard to get, to just about everybody in the game has the cards, so they are now very common. There is the part from a grinders perspective.Here is the part from a market crash perspective.
If everyone is allowed to grind this program as many times as they want, everybody would have all the stubs they could ever want. That means that people like me, who DON'T have Mickey Mantle or Mike Trout would be able to get those cards with basically no effort involved. If that were to happen, prices on the marketplace would inflate so fast, and so high, everybody else who isn't good enough to do the program over and over again would basically lose the ability to compete with others online. It would create an unfair bar of division between the MLB the Show community between the people who are good enough to do that, and the people who aren't.Here is an example: Say I was one of those players who isn't good enough to do the R.I.B program over and over again. For me, stubs are hard to come by. I'm not very good at the game, and I struggle at things like conquest and showdown. Let's say I have just hit 50,000 stubs from miraculously doing the R.I.B showdown once, and I want to buy a better player for my starting rotation. Well, everybody else who IS good enough to do the R.I.B program over and over again are thinking the exact same thing. They want to get better starting pitchers too. Thus, the people who can do it over and over buy those players BEFORE the worse player can. The price of say, FOTF John Smoltz was (I know it isn't just giving a example) 45,000 stubs. You just got to 50,000 stubs, and you are excited to go buy him. you look at his price, and it is now 60,000 stubs. Your heart sinks. You know you can't get that much that fast. You feel doomed. You also tell yourself that 60,000 for one card is WAY too much. You decide to go look at other cards you wanted if your first plan went wrong. To your surprise, ALL of those cards have gone up in price. You decide to buy some anyways, but you have lost some value in the stubs you have. Instead of having, say, 10,000 stubs left over for those cards, you now only have about 3,000 stubs left over. It just creates an unfair advantage/disadvantage for the people who can or can't do the program over and over again.
I hope this explains my thinking behind starting this post in the first place well.
-
That's an unrealistic scenario, because if someone can't beat that conquest repeatedly, (You don't have to play it on all-star, you can build up and play on rookie if you want), then they likely are pretty bad at getting stubs anyway and couldn't afford cards in the first place.

I've gotten mantle and trout right off the bat and i dont feel less accomplished because others can get him now too. I dont understand at all what youre complaining about. Other people's success?
