I dont understand why Lee Smith only gets a 94. He retired as the all time saves leader and is a HOFer. I'm sure his card will be good, but it's just dumb that he gets a rating that low.

Cards announced:
98 Bert Blyleven
98 Paul Goldschmidt
98 Billy Williams
97 Javier Baez
97 Wade Davis
96 Cliff Lee
95 Adam Wainwright
91 Elvis Andrus
91 Tyler ClippardLee Smith just got announced. The Cardinals version.
I definitely like the Wade Davis card. That could make my bullpen. None of the others make my lineup I don’t think but it would be interesting to try out the Lee Smith card.
Smith is way better than Davis on all previous in game evidence. But maybe this year is different. Cutters have historically been useless too.
Cutter on RS = HR.
Not like last year though. They were absolutely useless. Now they’re as not bad unless you totally meatball it.
oh I know I suck hahaha but sometimes it makes me wonder why every time I use a cutter that happens
My best guess would be not throwing it far enough inside to an opposite handed batter, or throwing it like a slider to a same handed batter. Use cutters to opposite handed batters and sliders to same handed batters if possible.
Cutters are rarely as effective when thrown high as they are slightly lower, although I’ll sometimes throw a high cutter well inside with a guy like Paxton if they’re sitting on a fastball in that location and trying to pull it hard, because they swing before it breaks and have little chance of meaningful contact. I probably wouldn’t execute that move with Rivera, for instance, preferring instead to tunnel the cutter and slider to greater effect.

I used the cutter with Kluber on the Old Timers moment 80% of time, cutter inside on right handed batters, painting the corners, guarantee called strike...but that doesn't work on RS at all...

people on Instagram saying this is going to crash the market.... am I missing something? why would these cards affect the price of all the others? because people buy up cards that they wouldn't have done otherwise in an attempt to complete Trout? or am I just being stupid?
thanks all.

do you guys know if we get XP progress for completing the map over and over?
I don't see why not. I've been getting XP progress for Conquest USA the whole year.

The ability to replay this over and over (and over) means it will be a stub-printing machine.

makes sense. thank you. just sold my 8th inning boss Kershaw for 123k to cash out in the hopes I can buy it back again for sub 100k after the crash! even if I can't, not the end of the world. there'll inevitably be other 99s in the 9th and 10th inning programs anyway. appreciate the response.

SDS's ratings are, just like WAR, extremely unfavorable to Relief Pitchers. It's the nature of the position.

If you get to 2 strikes, CPU will chase a slider down and away 90%~ of the time, even on HoF and Legend. Real people tend to recognise patterns and adapt, however.
As a general rule for online play, if someone is swinging early consistently, you should pitch more off speed and away. If they’re struggling to catch up, throw hard and inside and let them jam themselves on late swings. Always keep it varied and mix things up and look for signs they’re beginning to adjust or get frustrated and adapt your strategy accordingly before they get chance to hurt you.
Obviously there are some great players out there who will tend to crush anything and everything in the zone and lay off balls out of the zone. Good luck against those guys.

I'm comparing it to Wade Davis getting a 97. Seems stupid.
Edit: or Tom Henke or Jake McGee for that matter.

I’ve always done really well with Davis’ knuckle curve. That’s why I’ve liked him in the past. And that 125 H/9 is attractive.

Ratings dont mean much man. They look good but certain cards just produce regardless of the rating

The ability to replay the 8th inning showdown over and over for the BIAH and headliner packs means the same thing, just on a smaller scale. Nobody was particularly excited about that.

This would actually mean the opposite. More stubs would mean higher prices just like with stub sales. If they are talking about crashing the market that would likely be because people will pull their current bids for other cards to get these for free instead, thus reducing demand vs. supply and making prices drop.
-
either way im assuming the market dips some

Plus, as I said in a different thread, these cards will just be a further incentive for anyone who doesn’t yet have Trout to go after him. To do so they’ll need to lock in a great number of cards from various sets, thereby removing them from circulation.

The only impact could be the price on lower Prime cards towards the Trout collection. The Ducks in a Pond cards are already bottomed out - as with currently 4 'free' Prime cards through this program, there will not be as much demand for the lower Prime cards (Carpenter/Soria/Dozier etc) so those that are looking to cash in might start fulfilling the buy orders to cash out.
-
Well, one thing for sure is these cards will be super cheap on the market very soon. Look how cheap 99 FOTF were, and you could only get one each of those.

The bad news is they picked THIS weekend. Thanks to my schedule, I'm not going to be able to get to this until Sunday afternoon.
You could skip the LSU game
