Two Questions - Showdown Pearson
-
This is my first year playing and I’m not very good. However, I try really hard and won’t quit, which is why I have completed all the programs. I’ve tried this Showdown Extreme about 100 times by now and need help from the community - I cannot beat Pearson (I can hardly touch him).
The questions I have:
- Against Pearson, do you start with your PCI somewhere other than the middle?
- Are you looking for a certain location first?
- Is there any other advice you might have for me? (this has been painful)
Thank you to all those who participate here and help others. I don’t write much, but I’m always reading and getting tips from you guys.

I'm terrible at Showdown, but beat him first try.
Take pitches until you have 2 strikes. He is very wild and will walk the house if you let him. I probably scored 5-6 runs on bases loaded walks. I also loaded up on left handed power hitters.
-
Be patient. You have 30 outs so don’t give up easy outs by swinging first pitch. Make him work and his energy will go down and he will start walking more of your batters. Try to stay out of DP. Don’t swing at low pitches unless you have 2 strikes. Sit up in the zone and key on FB. He throws it 70+% of the time.

I almost had him. Went perfect my first try, was down 3 with 12 outs to go and no energy left...190 pitches and he still got me. Now I can't seem to get to the final showdown anymore.

Take a break and start fresh. Feller is the hardest boss in my opinion. But like people have said, take until 2 strikes first couple times thru against Pearson and than hunt the fastball middle up. I like the 2 strike diamond perk, along with the massive Boost on pitched over the middle and Heartbreak where you get significant contact while losing with guys on base.

I remember seeing the Lucky 7 perk come up (the 7th pitch of an AB is guaranteed to be a strike), and I ignored it because I thought, “What good does that do me? So the pitcher dots the corner... great.” Then found out it means right down the middle. That and Inner Peace (the boost on pitches down the middle) makes for a lethal combo. Shame it doesn’t pop up very often.

Lucky 7 will not show up in Extreme moments because it’s a bronze perk and you get silver and above only.

You can look for the base steal glitch, so when you get runners on base you can easily advance them all the way to third

Don't swing... He walked my 12 times. Only got 2 hits yes 2 lol. He walked in about 7 or 8 runs.

Great advice, especially not swinging at low pitches. I got it done! Thank you and to everyone else.

Congrats glad you got it done!

Get to Pearson in the showdown then...
Do the extreme moment where you need 8 hits 2 xbh and 5 runs.
Bat the top of the 1st, then restart. Do this over and over until you feel you're getting good timing and placement, who cares if you have to do it 100 times.
Once you feel good go ahead and face him in the showdown.
-
I beat him with the wait until two strike method...I did however have a different experience than most. Both times I faced him, he walked very few batters, but after 120 or so pitches he became manageable for me...and after like 170 pitches I just started teeing off on him (at least the second attempt)
So I think it’s a good strategy because even if you aren’t benefitting with free runs, you can really push the pitch count up to a point where you should have a chance to hit him well.

Brother... this is EXACTLY what I did and it’s 100% what I needed. So important if you’re not that good at this (like me).

How did you get to 170 pitches? Did you foul off a lot? For me he had threw 72% strikes, hitting corners constantly... it was a struggle for me to get him to 140

not really in the spirit of the game, but could always change the game sliders to make the pitcher tire more quickly. that way you may need him to 'only' throw 110-120 before he gets tired rather than until his arm is falling off at 150+. could also use it to slow the pitch speed down as I imagine it's coming in at 101mph fairly regularly. I've not even tried the Showdown yet - still trying to grind the conquest so I can rack up innings for the TA challenges, but it sounds brutal!

Manually changing sliders will absolutely have no effect on any of the showdowns/moments. Imagine if this was a thing, would be easy for everyone to do
