Who else does this and do you find it works well? I struggle L/L more than R/R, so this looks like a solid option for me.

Does Frank still get everything at 1B like he did in 19?

I’m a huge 90s baseball fan, so Frank Thomas has been my end game 1B for the past couple of years. This year, I just can’t get on with his long, awkward swing and I sold him after a while. I much prefer Thome or Ruth if I’m using my other, non 90s team. I don’t think Ruth needs a platoon at first, he hits LHP pretty well for me, but if you really struggle L v L then Awards series Matt Wieters, Ji Man Choi and Dylan Carlson are switch hitters who can play 1B with solid defense, albeit they don’t have the 120+ power numbers you’ll get with Thomas, Ruth and co.

    Thome is the truth.

The new MA Nick Castellanos plays well at 1st if you are looking for a right handed 1B bat. He's free if you've done all the Monthly Awards programs including the MA Tatis.

Ruth should be your everyday, but if you do have to platoon, I'd just go cheap, there's a ton of these Topps Now goons that have ridiculous power numbers you can use for a tough match up.

Yeah, just saw he has 1B and pretty sick vs LHP. I'll try him out and save the stubs for now.

I do this as well. Ruth starts, if its a Left pitcher then Big Frank comes in.

I do this with Posey and Ruth. I’m a giants fan so I want to get posey into games but I mainly need him to face a lefty

I have both and I can tell you that Frank is still a gold glover, and he also kills righty. Use babe tho because of balancing the lineup.

That sounds silly. Platooning is for a player(s) that dont hit the other handiness well. These guys KILL there same side pitching. Not to mention I personally hit Lefty on Lefty better than I do righty on lefty. So I would be much more dangerous with Ruth up and a lefty pitching than Thomas. If you kept one or the other on the bench to PH later in the game I can see that. But if Ruth or Thomas was due up in the first or 2nd inning no way I pull one or the other because of who is on the mound. That is a waste.

Anyone else think they tweaked Frank’s swing this year? I’m hitting much more consistently in 20 than in 19, but I’m not getting as much power as I remember last year. I think I only have 5 or 6 HRs but I’m hitting well over .400 because he’s sort of been a singles machine. Not complaining because I love frank and I’m going to use him either way, but I’m just curious how others have been doing in 20 vs 19.

I agree! This year he has less power its weird! I've hit better with him higher avg but less homeruns!

Ruth. I sold Frank to buy back Larry Walker. 100k stubs was too much to have on my bench as a platoon bat....

I have Castellanos to take an AB against LHP if I’m struggling with babe. He plays 1B secondary, he has massive power against both sides and was free because I didn’t sell my Topps now cards so I didn’t have to use stubs to unlock him

At this point of the game, I find it super challenging to make a lineup. There’s about 25 position players I enjoy using, or would like to use, that are currently in my possession.

Yeah my lineup is so stacked right now I had no spot for Frank so I grinded events out 2 weeks ago and got the stats with Frank for prestige so now I start Ruth and bring Frank off the bench to platoon
