I have seen while pitching to the other player. The ball seems to approach the batter much slower, yet when my opponent is pitching me. The speed of the game is so much faster. Something causes this. Is it a gaming router? Connection? Internet speed? What?
But it is time to EXPOSE San Diego. You guys can change this. Make it fair. Creating a way to adjust this late swing problem when we push the button early but still either no swing or late when it is, AGAIN the button is being pressed early at the pitcher's point of release.
These two points above. First of all, your opponent also sees the ball slower when he’s pitching. That’s been the way the game has worked, by design, for years. It’s not a case of you’re seeing the pitches come in super fast when hitting but your opponent is seeing the ball at veteran difficulty offline speeds when he’s hitting. The ball does appear slower when pitching, for everyone.
The second paragraph, you just described input lag down to a tee. If you’re playing on a TV put it in game mode. Or try a monitor. They’re like £25 used where I live for a basic HD monitor that will eliminate that issue completely.
I have a monitor ASUS 248QE 1mz and trace free.. this game is still garbage response.

Something seems wrong from
your description. I’m a terrible hitter and I am often found to be late on fastballs. That said, I haven’t had that handicapped feeling where it seems like no matter what you do you can’t swing early enough to pull a fastball for a while. When I did, it was down to my display settings. I’m not calling you an idiot, but are you sure you’re not missing something? -
Disappointed at the lack of "git gud" comments in this thread

Four more online strikeouts with Maddux. Then he’s prestige, I get Trout, and won’t have to play online for a long time

I have tweaked and/or adjusted every single different visual option that monitor has, as well as the playstation. This game is garbage when it comes to response on a peer to peer gaming experience. MIC DROP....

As bad as this game is online, let’s try not to blame Ramone or the rest of the SDS community guys. It’s not their fault, and they are just pushing the message handed down by corporate. They know the issues with the game and are pro frustrated by all the people harping on them.

I agree totally!! It sucks that sds has the rights and this is the only option for baseball fans!! They obviously seem to put zero effort into game play!!
Still blows Madden out of the water though... It’s actually a good game engine...

Online is a very unpleasant experience this year. The latency issues are bad, especially if you are the road team, baserunning isn’t great, fielding has taken a step back, especially in the corners and then there are the exploiting bunt dancing, lag switching opponents I have to deal with. This game is great offline, but online is a different story. I think SDS is aware of this because a couple of streams back when Flores requested a way to get prestige players without playing online, the look on the face of the SDS team was priceless.
Offline is the most important to me, they need to really dive into franchise mode and make it great for the future... Online always kinda sucks..

Well, we don’t disagree on the P2P connections making the game play badly online. As I said, I wasn’t trying to insinuate that you were some kind of noob with display settings, or that you were wrong about the state of online play. You’d be surprised how many people don’t utilise the correct settings and have difficulty as a result. I was only trying to make some helpful suggestions. No offence intended.

Peer to peer is the problem, you're playing on the home teams internet. If there using wifi or have mediocre internet the game will play very bad, swinging will feel off, pitching etc.
Not much they can fix with this engine it's tapped out to it's full capacity. Hopefully with next gen consoles alot of these gm flaws will be a thing of the past.
Hoping the 1st installment on PS5 will be gd but I have little faith in it. Took them 2 yrs if I'm correct maybe 3 to realize the power of the PS4.
Let's hope they learned from that!! IMO -
I like the game ️
