For a second there, I thought SDS had actually listened to us.....

During the 8th inning stream, the guy who came on as a guest at one point mentionned that it would be fun if it was possible to get the prestige grind done offline. I was SURE that was a setup for SDS to say "Yes, we agree and we heard you and will open up the prestige grind to offline play". Nope. Didn't happen. But Ramone's face.....priceless!
At this point, it needs to be opened to offline, and not for the reasons people think. So many people have literally cheated to get those cards prestiged that the playing field between those that are doing it "honestly" and those that "boosted" that there needs to be a way to level it all.
I played a guy this weekend who was a worst player than me (hard to imagine), had a sub .400 record, and fielded a FULL 9 PLAYERS that were prestiged and had 3 on the bench. No way he earned those, not with how he plays.
There are cards that will never be prestiged (or at least VERY FEW), such as say, certain FotF cards, so it would give players who prefer to play offline (I am one of those players) something to grind towards. It's september, and it's time to open it up and to come up with a BETTER way to do this next year.

I don’t play a lot of ranked and feel no need to have a prestiged player vs CPU. It’s something to keep playing online for which is where the $ is for SDS. If there was an offline program to prestige I feel it would just be mindless hours of playing on rookie at Coors again.
Would you be fine with having a offline prestige program where the players you prestige offline could only be used offline? Hours of CPU play on rookie isn’t all that fair either. Maybe make the difficulty requirement HOF or higher offline?

Make the requirement at least all star vs cpu. I am someone who strives to collect every card in the game. I have never come particularly close, but it is a goal of mine each year and it generally keeps me engaged. I rarely play rs, but I do play events until I get the reward, this would probably encourage me to play more. Keep in mind, part of the business model for this game is the network effect, the more people who play, even offline, the more liquidity in the market place which makes the game better.

That's fine. You don't want to do it. I like to get as much out of the game as I can. I do play some online, mostly events, but the amount of BS that goes on in those games is driving me towards offline play. There is rarely any enjoyment online. I played a few games where I had fun, against a similar skilled player, but all in all, it's a ****show.
Would I agree with it being All-Star? Yeah, I would. HoF would be out of reach of most casual players, but All-Star would be a good middle ground. I consider myself a hardcore offline player, casual online player. You don't want to alienate your main player base, and I think there are way more casual players than other types of players. Everyone who wants the programs open offline have said either All-Star or double the requirements. Some say both. At this point in the year, I'd just say open it up to all difficulties, but I would definately say OK to it being All-Star.

So if you make it an offline thing that you could grind on rookie at colors but yet its all fine and good to grind the same idea when playing online and finding someone who serves up meatballs?
I personally don't care about prestige players at all but the thought process of the online vs offline crowd is by far one of the stupidest things people argue about in these forums. Online want online only, offline wants a chance at the same cards without playing try hard and bunt dancers. Whats the big deal? If an offline guy gets a prestige player, why does it matter? He is getting it for offline

I've been wanting more focus on offline program completion for years. I'm not saying that online play shouldn't be a component of the game and completing programs and collections. Rather, it should be an option for players who like playing online and who want to complete things that way. Meanwhile, offline players like myself should be able to complete collections/programs in our own way, offline.
I don't understand why offline and online players should be pitted against each other. I have no beef against online players—they play the game in their own way, just like I do playing offline. As for what difficulty offline programs should be, I'd be fine with Rookie to All-Star, as long as they fix the hitting on All-Star. I just feel that offline players such as myself shouldn't have to pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription to get access to cards that would otherwise cost hundreds of thousands of stubs (for example).
The game, and its missions, programs, collections, unlockables, challenges, etc., should be a level playing field. A sandbox where anything can happen and people can do what they want without having to pay $60 or $70 a year for online play that PC users get for free.
