Free Agents

I'm probably getting 80 percent free agents out of the players in my regular packs and was wondering what their value is in the game other than being used for the free agent collection? Do the cards become team cards if they are signed by a team during the season? Why are some free agents with rankings in the mid-60's being sold for more than 100 stubs and other going for like 5? Sorry if this has been discussed before but always wondered exactly how this all worked.

Yes, if they join a team they get added to the Roster on the following update.
Also, this year, they've been putting guys that go on the DL in the FA pool to make room for the guys that Join the team as a replacement. Also the guys that opted out of the season. I.E Yeonis Cespedis.
