I’m all with the different hitting types and I have been playing with PCI for last couple years but sometimes I got to wonder why doesn’t a p/p or g/g always result in a hit. Every game I ever played was based on timing and if u perfected timing u was pretty [censored] good at the game . IE nba2k. What I’m saying is random outcomes are great but when my pitcher pitches a good input I should get the location I wanted. If I square up a ball I should at least get a hit. I would even take about if the positional player made a great play and he has good rating. Long story short I think the Show is a great franchise but they need to open the game up to being more input related that random outputs. Consistent contact with hitters should break thru whatever pitcher on the mound and that’s how it usually works.

I actually disagree with it always being a hit, but I think really good pci placement should be rewarded very consistently. My biggest issues with the hitting are bad exit velos on perfect pci and grounders on center pci- It should be a line drive if the ball’s in the center of the pci, not a ground ball double play

That's baseball though. Plenty of balls are absolutely crushed in real life but if you hit it right at someone, they will catch it. Just bad luck.

I mean I think you can make an argument for P/P being a hit everytime.

But this game would be a disaster if a good/good was a hit everytime.

A good Pitch should always be within or on the location you selected. but if they add this feature based on your pitchers control it might get harder to get Good rating

If exit velos are fixed or tweaked i think this wouldn't be an issue

It’s suck when what should have been a P/P transforms into good/good and anything from a HR to grounder to short is possible.

I’ll give you an example of how this game is horrendous. I hate br But I’m annoyed by [censored] near every online mode. Played a 4 inning game and went 3/12 of good goods. My opponent hits the early homerun but I lined out every time I had a runner in scoring position.

Also, is it just me or does it feel like perfect perfect grounders are right at someone every time?

I hit into double plays all of the time on those! They need to be way more rewarding, never XBH’s either

I get more grounder hits when I am fooled than when I p/p a grounder. Its crazy

I completely agree with it being how baseball really plays, the thing that makes me go against this thought process is the fact that SDS is clearly attempting for the show to be an esport that is up there with madden, fifa, and 2k. Can you imagine someone losing a big tournament on a perfect/perfect flyball dying at the track? Literally costing that player thousands of real world money? How do you think that would go over with sales of the game after watching something like that?

Yeah I mean I just want consistency. A lot of times I’m getting ball on bat in good locations and it seems I’m not being rewarded. My biggest beef is inside pitches. I feel I hit a lot of inside pitches that never hit any gaps

First, this (and I know nothing of the site, just stumbled upon it): http://theaposition.com/davidhbarrett/non-golf/552/on-baseball-and-chance

Just an interesting look at baseball and random effects.

But with perfect/perfects, it makes sense that they can be outs. The bottom line is that your input isn’t absolute; there’s chance involved by necessity. Most people write about the PCI like it’s the bat itself, but it isn’t. It’s where you’re looking, or where you’re trying to put the bat (so it’s intention). Higher rated hitters will succeed more often than poorly rated hitters, but more to the point, it seems to me that the good/goods and p/p swings are ratings after that chance has come onto play. You may be just a bit off, and you’re swing resulted in a 43 degree launch angle. With a swing at that angle, you may have hit it as hard as possible (perfect), with excellent timing (perfect), but that’s a steep climb... caught on the track. Obviously, a hit on a line or on the ground could be right at anyone playing defense. That’s just luck, and that’s baseball.

They want a pure arcade game. Same crying every year. They are cheated while their opponent is given all the luck. Somehow, good players still manage to win most of the time.

Imagine MLB players crying that some of their hard hit balls are caught. "But if I hit it hard it should be a hit 100% of the time."

It just seems like there’s no variance of balls in play. Especially with guys who have the shift. How many times have you hit a line drive or ground ball where the fielder doesn’t have to move a single step because he’s shifted? At least give me a step or two one way or the other 😂
