Baserunning?
-
Anyone else having issues with Baserunning this year? I’ve made more base running mistakes this year than other. I know some of them are on me, but I dont even steal bases and still run myself out of innings. Seems like if I take a wide turn at all rounding a base, even just a little, I get thrown out. I don’t remember this in previous years.

It’s always atrocious! They still can’t fix runners running with two outs on contact instead they run back to the bag! I’ve lost so many times cause of that

I lost track of how many runs base running has cost me.

No issues for me using classic baserunning (and avoiding L1/R1), the last mistake I made that wasn’t caused by a brain fart was back in 2016.

Are you playing online using classic? My baserunning has been awful lately might be time to try something new

When I play online (which is very rarely) yes. Only thing I’ve found is you need to double press the base runner button (square, circle etc) because for some reason a single press won’t select them like in offline.

I’m wrong here and need to clarify; there is one thing about classic interface that has caused a couple of mistakes: when the runners round a base their button changes. This should not happen. It’s rare that it causes a problem but it shouldn’t be a risk at all.

Big turns around bases seem to happen every game, causing an unneccessary out. My biggest issue is when you steal a base, and your runner literally stops halfway through the steal and glitches. Which causes you to be thrown out by 10 ft when it should have been a SB by that much.

I’ve had a lot of base running mistakes as well. Usually happens when I’m struggling to get on base at all in a game which makes it sting even that much more. My most common mistake is somehow telling my runner to steal Second successfully, pop up slide and keep running to steal third immediately as the shortstop is catching the throw from the catcher. Funny thing is i actually get to third without being thrown more often than I should ( probably 30% of the time) and it is very gratifying when I go from first to third this way,
