Too Much Content?

Is there such a thing? I mean, there’s multiple tiers for a lot of the same players and it doesn’t really seem like they’re putting a whole lot of time into these cards. But it seems like now, if you wanna buy the game today, you can have a all diamond club by tomorrow. That just doesn’t seem right. You used to have to commit and work for that. Is it just me who feels that way?

I'm fine with it, this isn't an RPG that lasts for years and therefore doesn't have to provide ways to catch up for newer players. MLB The Show has a one-year lifespan each title, so helping newer players catch up makes sense.
-
More content to cover up the horrible gameplay, something for streamers to make money off of.

My mild OCD makes me want to finish every program so it's pretty daunting at times imo. Played way less RS this year because of it for sure

Yes! That’s exactly it. It’s like, I have 4 or 5 diamond players at every position because I do the same thing. And it’s like, we can only roster 13 hitters at a time so what’s the point? But as Eatyum said earlier, it’s gotta be that way for newer players not to load the game and then never play it again because they’ll never stand a chance at this stage of the game.

I think a lot of this content is community driven. We asked for more and we got more. Each year we seem to be getting more content. Now the quality of the content is questionable but when they keep doling it out it seems you can’t be mad. It seems the last couple of years they’ve made live series cards irrelevant. And very early on.

Sds sees content as more cards, rather than something to use those cards on.

Sort of agree with that. I started very late (bout a month ago) and had an all Diamond lineup in about a week. Probably intentional so that the ppl coming into it late can catch up and be competitive quicker? Just a guess.

It used to be that achieving an all diamond squad was the pinnacle of DD. Then it became an all 99 squad. Now people cry about useless cards if they don’t have all diamonds day one. That said, I like the way the content has progressed this year. The amount of easy to obtain, usable diamonds available now is just a by product of being in the later stages of the season.

It is a little overwhelming. Especially with work picking up, I’ve only been on a few times in the last 8-10 days.
But, then again.... it’s just a hobby. I’m not going to stress over it. When I stop having fun with it is when I take a break.

First time that I hear that too much content is bad because everyone gets a diamond card nowadays. Either way you have to pay with cash or time in these types of games. At the end of the day it’s a game that most of us don’t profit from, unless you’re a content creator and we’re just trying to get the itch of playing baseball. If cards were grind only like in 18 I would’ve dropped this game a long time ago.
-
I have yet to play someone who has the same lineup as me. It's nice having this diversety.

My only complaint is 4 different John Smoltz seems excessive

To be fair though, how many times do you see the low diamond starter or the expensive 92 Reliever who's already obsolete?
I agree it is a bit weird to have 4 different diamonds, but we are also talking about a pitcher who was very successful in a starting and relief role, he certainly wouldn't have 4 cards if he was only a reliever or starter.

Go look at '18. Every lineup was identical. That was the worst edition of the franchise. Well, the gameplay was awful and all the mindless cpu grinding made the game just terrible. Most players don't complete every program and play every event. Some of you are completionists. Most people play casually. You shouldn't have a good lineup only if you make this game a part time job. There are so many different diamonds and ways to get them that i think its a good thing. The inconsistent gameplay and exit velocities is what we should be annoyed by, not an influx of good cards.

Is that an unbiased complaint? Or a Mets complaint? Lol
-
I agree. Too many cards. You can only field so many at at time.

Its a legit complaint when there are a bunch of players that don't have their best cards yet

I agree. #Glavine... or that shouldn’t be his best card.

How do streamers make money? Advertising? Not sure. Never watch.
