how does sds go about getting permission to have players in the show do they pay them ,or just need permission from them or and family

Any current player is covered under the MLB Players Association, they have rights to anyone who actively plays through them.
Retired players must be negotiated with individually in most cases and they pay them for their name rights. (Names like Ruth who aren't alive are owned by the family estate or corporations, that is who SDS negotiates with in those cases)
