Stealing against CPU

Does anybody else have trouble stealing against the computer. I have no trouble in ranked but against the cpu it doesn’t work half the time. Am I doing something wrong?

pre load steal animation, wait for pitcher to come set, then when they give you that last look over to the bases hold R2, take 2 steps, let go (they won't pick off if done correctly) -

This in particular works for 60+ Speed 60+ Steal cards Sheffield and Reggie types & above (stealing 2B against CPU)
anything lower you still run risk of being pitched out/caught stealing
80+ Speed high Steal cards (stealing 3B against CPU)they could patch if they'd like it's just R2 when pitcher is set

Thank you sir! I just tried this out and played some 1980’s style baseball vs the computer for the Ruth moments. I’m still on the AL team All-Star missions but I think this will be absolutely key when I hit the HoF moments.
