Base stealing help

Hi,
In DD when grinding Conquest, Showdown, or Babe moments, can’t steal with anyone (Rickey, Rollins...) against anybody. They all get bad jumps. Wether I preload or try to jump the gun manually, even if the SS does his stretch high and behind him animation, I still get 10% success rate. Been caught my last 5 or 6 times. Any tips?

I was struggling to steal with guys like Biggio and Mantle for awhile. I felt like the AI would read my controller and always pitch out or slide step whenever I elected to steal. I overcame this by stealing in certain counts like 2-1 and 2-2. When you have 2 balls, I've noticed that the AI doesn't pitch out nearly as often. I don't steal in 2-0, 3-0. or 3-1 counts because those are fastball counts and it just doesn't make sense to steal there. I also try to avoid stealing 0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 1-1, and 1-2 because it seems like the AI will pitch out quite often in those counts. My success rate went way up when I started stealing/not stealing in those counts. I'm still not perfect, but I'm much better than I was. Hope this helps.

Surprised you're getting picked with Rickey as he's 99 across the board for speed.
Anyhow, when stealing, I always fake like I'm bunting and always pull back last second (not talking about bunt dancing either), and although it's not 100% guaranteed, I can say that more times than none, it helps distract their catcher just enough to give your base runner a slight edge to make it. Sometimes the catcher won't even throw down and will just stand up and then turn because he assumed that you were going to bunt.

it was extremely frustrating for me also but thanks to Ikasnu for posting this:
"Hold R2, press L2, then L1, then release R2( a few seconds after). Best done in a 1-0 1-1 count. Easy stolen bags."
It hasnt been 100% foolproof but you will see a drastic difference especially with the jump

Do you then release L2 and L1 when The pitcher breaks for the plate, or do you keep them pressed?

They really just need to fix baserunning. It’s absolutely ridiculous to see someone like Lou brock or Rickey with all 99 baserunning not start stealing until the pitcher is about to release the ball. It’s like they zone out for a good 5 seconds then remember they’re supposed to be going. Absolutely brutal when it happens

I like to wait until the pitcher is set to release R2
But it is simply press and hold R2, then press and release L2, then press and release L1, then wait a second or two and release R2 -

This helps, but it will not help when the pitcher throws over. You will still get picked off. Mondesi, even Brock got picked off.
If the CPU throws over 2 times, Do not try to steal on the next pitch.
If the runner is fast enough, 95 spd and up, they will still beat a pitch out. -
Thanks for the tips. I know all about the pitch sequences and counts, been playing since 08, but seems that last year and even more this year the runners start once the P has his front foot halfway down. Even when manually triggering the swipe there’s a 1-1.5 sec delay. I’ll try that sequence though. Too bad they took out the C moving exploit too in moments and RTTS, makes the Philipps and Jackie missions incredibly frustrating.
