Having huge issues with the high cheese lately so I sit high and adjust from there. Before each pitch I hold it high and release and it shoots back to the middle (duh).

But when facing my last opponent who spammed high FBs the pitch came down the middle so I simply released the pci and swung with good timing. Yet the pci feedback showed I was under the ball even though it was right down the middle. Even the slide rule timing bar was in the "good" window.

I've had this happen, its just the joysticks momentum after you release it carrying it just under center quickly.

I know I’ve read somewhere before that when you swing early the pci automatically jumps up a little and when you swing late it drops down a little. Wouldn’t explain why it’s happening with good timing though lol

Good timing doesn't mean jack [censored] in this game. I get more hits on late and early than I do good........

That's just not true. Either that or you're the luckiest sumB ever. I'm being extremely generous when I say 5/10 of my perfect/perfects go for hits, not bombs, but merely hits. And for some reason I've even had a couple somehow go foul over the last 4-5 days.

So the other day my PCI was bouncing up and down (more accurately it was shaking) when I held it in one spot. Turns out I just needed to clean some dust or debris out from under my sticks. I blew into it hard and it temporarily fixed it a few times, until I stopped being lazy and just opened it up.

    No issues since then.

And yes I'm aware this isn't the same as your issue, but when I read the title I immediately thought of my scenario. So if anyone else is experiencing what I did and came here hoping to find a fix, now you know how to fix it.

Yep pretty much this. I’ve had it happen in the menus and that’s the only time i’ve noticed it.

My controller is starting to do this lately. Shakes a bit when starting high.

When it happened before, a new controller was the solution. Not going to invest in one right before the new consoles come out though.

Mine does this all the time. I wish if you released it, it would just go back to the center. Not sure how to fix this issue.
