Can't say I understand the logic of allowing teams to relocate but have them play in other teams stadiums, but it's a step in the right direction at least.
On the plus side, at least the Expos can now enjoy Texas fall weather!
-
Yeah I was let down too. I knew there would be no Stadium Creator, but they could have at least added some new generic stadiums. Oh well I guess it's a building block and maybe next year we get it.

Its a first step, I was very happy with what I saw.
It's the first step? It's taken them this long just to add that. So what. Drop down $60 for this years game. Maybe next year we get a couple generic fake stadiums. There is another $60. MLB the Show 22. they ignore the feature "to focus on other things" MLB the show 23. Maybe finally get some sort of create a stadium.
So 3 years and $250 spent to get the full feature. Yet they are putting how many time and money into getting all these new legends, game modes and updates for DD. This is acceptable to you?

Yeah, it's why I am only buying ever other year, unless I see something huge added.

I would’ve accepted pre designed stadiums. You are moving to Portland or Montreal, those cities come with 3 or 4 choices of stadium. This way weather could play a role. If they were very bold, then they would be able to include city B Roll, like other teams before a game.

I still think we'll get that within the next couple of years, something like Madden did a few years ago where if you move you can use a stadium the new city if offering or build your own.
-
It's a step forward no matter how you look at it. Think of it this way, picking an MLB stadium wouldn't make sense, but you would have a few legends stadiums to choose as well as several minor league and spring training stadiums.
Personally I'd just choose Polo Grounds.

I agree it’s a step forward. And I’m all about using classic fields if they add the Kingdome, Tigers Park, or hopefully Ebbets field. But when it comes to new ballparks. Don’t make the same mistake as Madden. Make different stadiums for different cities. Part of the cool thing about baseball stadiums, is the personality and uniqueness of stadiums. Build upon that

There is way too many cities to have a design for each. But they could do pre build stadiums for every region. Then a few that would fit just about anywhere. Or they could just put their time and resources into a [censored] create a stadium. Then we can create it to fit the area we want. Take a year off DD (like they do with Franchise every year) and get the mode in the game. Or at least something close it. I don't want to hear it's not possible on this hardware, when it was done in what 04?

“Take a year off DD”
In what world would this be a good idea?

"Take a year off the mode that makes them money year-round. Right.... that's a smart business strategy. Why don't we talk about something a little more realistic?

I literally just finished a blog entry about this very same dilemma a few minutes ago, then read today's posts to this thread.
My thoughts: https://redtedisback.blogspot.com/2020/02/mlb-show-21-create-stadium-prediction.html
I also posted it to TSN under General Discussion.

As much as I don't want to see it. There are other ways to make money in other modes. And if you stop pissing off people who enjoy those modes, they are more likely to support your game. A lot of people hate online play. I don't have 5 hours a day to devote to a videogame like some people. And I don't enjoy playing against them.
When will these game dev get it through their heads that not everyone is a nerd who wants to be a "pro gamer" and spends every waking min trying to compete online?

Let me start off saying that I hate playing people online and would love to see focus on Franchise. However let's face it, we are the minority. I have no clue how many people are pissed off about lack of additions or changes are made to Franchise, but if you post at OS, you would get the idea that it is a lot. So why do I say we are in the minority, because SDS does know, their marketing department is given the statistics, the number of users playing DD vs other modes. And if we weren't in the minority, then they would be focusing on Franchise and RTTS, but due to focusing on DD the fanbase has clearly shifted to DD and it will not shift back. So in the end they dont care about pushing off the minority of Franchise/RTTS players who make up a smaller base.
I stand by my buy every other year philosophy. No reason to buy every year unless you play DD, because that is where the changes are year in year out. Do something to give the company motivation to put more effort into these modes, because if you blindly buy every year, they have no reason to do anything, they got your money already.
