SDS, Time to Admit Online Only Prestige Was a Mistake

And now apparently stats aren’t even registering for Ortiz (something that is far more important when stats are online only)

It is time for SDS to admit that having the prestige grinds be online only was a big mistake and move them to any mode (ie offline included) within the next update or two. The prestige grind has completely ruined events with a huge swath of people playing just for prestige (ie hitting and quitting, pitching and quitting, or just outright asking for stats), which has taken the fun out of events and made them into nothing more than grinding opportunities.
The idea that it takes more skill and/or time to prestige a card online went out the window as soon as these cards were included in events and thus allowing people who prefer to play offline wouldn’t change any dynamic in the prestige process other than to clean up events AND likely make a ton of their customers very happy.
Forcing people to play online to prestige cards didn’t work and it’s past time to rectify this mistake and move all these grinds to any mode.

This post is the best I’ve seen in weeks. This morning I played 5 event games and all 5 opponents had names of 3XBH and I quit! Or message me begging me for stats. Just play the [censored] game!!!!!

I was a mostly offline player, but I jumped into the event and I got hooked on racking up stats with guys like Mantle, Walker, and Sheff. So, I can see the appeal.
This, right here, is exactly the reason they made the decision they did.

Power swing on rookie vs the orioles is basically an automatic hr so it would take like 5 hours to get a card prestiged lol

You mean like the people who had the new FoTF prestiged in a matter of hours in the event? I really don’t see the difference. This isn’t the same math as we had in 18, where the grinds were by position, being specific to a player means even offline it will take a long time (likely far longer than the give me hr and I’ll quit crowd) and if you are trying to prestige several players at once you will likely be better off playing out games than quitting, which will take even longer. Finally, who cares. It is highly likely that you are never going to play against the person who plays offline anyways.

I hit a hr off Chapman in the event with Biggio guy dashboards. It was a back and forth game really fun it’s just sucks too many people don’t let hrs land.

It has been mentioned many times, but the requirements dont have to be the same. 2-3x the stats for offline, or only allowing offline prestige to be on higher difficulties.
This constant handwringing over how quickly players would get them done is stupid anyway. It already happens online in events.

Thats not really what this is about though. It's about events being ruined by this garbage.

But also, going by your logic, why would anyone care about a +3 for online either? It's only +3, who cares?

The purpose of the event is to win the game and accumulate rewards. If You get the wins why does it ruin the event for you?

But also, going by your logic, why would anyone care about a +3 for online either? It's only +3, who cares?
If you were building a card and gave it plus 3 to every stat the overall boost to the player would be much kore than 3 overall. In RS a player who has Better stats plays better. Mindless conquest games that your going to win anyways makes little difference in the end result

There should always be a 3 inning mode where you can use your full squad. Or 6 inning game with quick counts. I have the same issue where you don’t have the time or focus to lock into a 9 inning game. Events are guys looking for easy wins or stats so i agree it’s not fun for that purpose. Or bc it’s on ball of fame
