Thinking about Quitting...

Has anyone else just given up trying to play online? I complained about not being able to hit a couple weeks ago and I’ve only marginally gotten better but then I go right back to being horrid. I’m starting to think online just isn’t for me. Nobody, especially in the lower tiers, actually plays the game of baseball. There’s no such thing as pitch sequencing, thinking about every move you make, what each other is swinging and not swinging at, and all the little things that make baseball, baseball in my opinion. I know online isn’t going to be a simulation of real life, but I’ve always found the show to be much better than 2k or madden at being more realistic, certainly offline. But I’m just not seeing it translate online. I’ve smashed countless controllers over just not being able to play online. I can’t hit with people like didi and bellinger, who the rest of the community have .400 averages with. I’m just not sure where to go from here and I’m wondering if any of you have thought about doing the same and just playing offline? Anyways, I hate to continue to go on and on about it, especially since most probably in this discussion don’t have this problem, but I thought I’d see what the community thinks.

I am in the same boat as you. This is the first year I focused on playing online and my hitting is up one day and down the next. I don't care about winning because I am a lunatic flipper and have every card in the game except 99 Casey Mize. I play for program stars and prestige stats. I hit better with some non-prestigeable cards, but I like filling the collection pages up with acquired cards. So I do things in ranked like pitch a silver starter for 7 k's when he is out of energy and the game is tied in the 8th with all the best bullpen guys available. I play to win, but moments challenges and program stars mean more to me. I hit below .200 so I am never climbing higher than maybe 600 level in RS.

I honestly think most people can't be as bad as they think they are that make these threads and i'm not talking about bad days or even being consistent. I bet most have dire Internet or are using a bad tv instead of a monitor because it makes a significant difference especially good Internet\connection.

I agree there’s so many variables in this game that can help a lot. Having all the right settings on your tv or monitor, and in the game settings and your internet. Players who are using fiber with a monitor instantly have a advantage if you don’t have those. This game depends so much on timing.

How were you doing before this current season? I hit 800 for the first time last season.. and last year i managed WS... I feel this current season has been tough for some reason.. could be the constant changes and experiments with the line ups... but hasn't been a good season..
I even tried using kontrol freaks and all that... lol.. keep at it? take the rest of this current RS off, and start again next season?

Rule #1 is to not take it too seriously

I could care less about wins or losses:
Example, I just quit a game up 5-0 because I was grinding for POTM stats. Once I got what I needed, I gave the guy the win. Everyone plays for different reasons, and quitting while winning wouldn't happen if we didn't have to grind online stats. So it goes.

I 100% take this back screw lag bad tvs everything the number1 thing for me is ps4 controller if it's too stiff I don't know how you play this game at all.
Honestly if the analog sticks are tight or a new controller that is the biggest problem. I'm going insane trying to play this game right now I can't hit a thing even lost to a bronze team in event pitching only Smoltz Diamond 1 r game because i just can't adapt.
