    I will chime in:

Fielding issue pop up and errors do not always feel even. Many are poorly decided.. an error in inning one is not the same as an error in inning 8.

Bloopers when they couldn't previously touch you. They didn't figure you out the third time through. In real baseball the odds of hitting a pitcher increase the more you see them. Maybe the game implements late inning sliders accordingly?

Pitch stamina and recovery... one person may be starting their first ranked game. You can be at a disadvantage to start. Why does stamina impact a new game against a different opponent?

Baserunning... this could go with fielding, but it is a huge problem. Baserunning when tied with poor fielding animations could equal something other than skill impacting the outcome.

    Internet connection and lagging.

There are MANY things that can impact these games outside of basic ability.

not only this but many of the young gamers are kids ....and Ranked Season records is basically flexing. They may be a great baseball player in real life but if something fluky happens they may get depressed and may be dealing with mental health issues. Nobody wants to talk about this.

Not worth the stress - bunt cheesing and pitches teleporting to the middle of the zone.

Just step into batters box and take hacks care free and forget about Ranked Seasons. I flip for 30 mins a day and was the 1st person to buy Eddie Mathews as a treat to myself.

Rankings mean nothing. RS is pretty much the same as every other element of the online game. It's, basically, predetermined by AI who will win. You can see it in every aspect of the game. The worst, obviously, is the pitch/swing animation. It's gotten so obvious the swing and pitch have almost no consequence in the outcome of the AB. Animation will "show" you were the pitch came in, "show" you where you swung, make the little vibration and audio to back it up. But the truth is..it's just the AI creating whatever animation in needs to support the scripted outcome. That simple.

Not saying it can't be fun. But, forget about having any kind of competitive experience because it's just not that kind of game. Fun to watch the animation sometimes though. Always more fun when the AI decides you'll win.

I've never once had a pitch go somewhere I didn't want it to, unless I didn't have good input. We must be playing different versions of the game.

Check my stats boss, my ERA is under 2 in like...600 RS games?

Game is hilarious and there is no need to care about rating, or rank, or anything. Get into a game and give zero "f" words, because the game is going to do what it wants, when it wants. GG.

i care about my records since 2017 - each year i try to get to 164 games to replicate a season

just cause you are salty about your L's doesn't mean you can generalize

i would be angry too if i was playing like you are describing your games .......

You have never had a pitch go somewhere other than you intended? I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that everyone has had this happen once or twice with good/perfect input (in the entirety of their play, let alone once a session/evening).

But maybe I am in the wrong and don't fully understand pitching with the meter? I do plan on switching to analog.

I hear meter is really tough, lots of RNG, haven't used it this year.

All the youtubers use analog and they also comment on pitches floating into the zone, so I don't know. It is what it is. Moral of the story, I need to care less about things in this game and do my best to enjoy my time playing, for the sake of playing.

I don't use analog either, whip under .5 in 600 RS games. All pitching inputs work fine (except maybe classic, I've never used it), as long as you get good at it.

Yup, 100%. I've had no issues pitching this year, especially with high control guys. Smoltz has 204 K's and 3 walks in 111.1 innings pitched. 0.49 ERA, 0.32 Whip

Just got Hershiser, but so far: 22 K's, 1 walk, 14 IP. 0.00 ERA, 0.86 Whip.

Hershiser has been lights out in ranked! I have 13 total innings in ranked and a zero ERA. I’m 70% done prestiging him because of the event. I’m surprised Smoltz is good for you! How long have you used pulse for?

I don't remember, it's all I've used. I didn't start playing DD until last year, so online, two years. You learn timing with pulse, and you learn pitcher tendencies, it takes some time, but it's well worth it.

Prestige Felix is unhittable, but if you aim his slider at the corner, it will hang and go 500 feet. You have to learn WHERE to put them to get the result you want, it's not for everyone.

I respect the OPs view....However, as for me, the moment I stop caring about my online record is the moment I will stop playing RS h2h.
For me, it is only fun to do that mode due to the idea that it is somehow important, at least in a competitive sense (like pickup basketball or something). That gives me the motivation to grind for better cards along with trying to get better. It plays on my competiveness, which makes RS worth my time.

Same, last year was my first year. I played in 16 and wanted to get back into it. I played a little last year but have played more this year for sure! Madden and rocket league have died off but I’m getting into Fortnite a little...

I totally get that, it's a different experience for everyone. I'm a coach, I have enough competition in my job, I enjoy video games for the fun factor without the stress.
