RNG and bad gameplay aside compare those things in real life. Obviously if somebody hits their shots in the military they are successful. The difference between football and baseball is that the best quarterbacks complete 70% of their passes. In baseball the best of the best FAIL 70% of the time. As much as I would like user input to matter as much as possible, I think the hitting is fine. Pitching is an issue in this game I’ll agree, but I promise you most of the above average players would be hitting over .400 if user input was perfect in this game.
I would actually be totally fine with people hitting .400 if they were just that good. It would bother be WAY less than losing if someone was just better than me than because of dice rolls.

There is already enough 15-14 slugfests in this game. I’m as average as it gets at hitting and I still hit .280. While people get irritated when RNG is against them they never mention the times that it helps them. Like it or not, RNG when hitting is here to stay. Otherwise it wouldn’t be possible to get anyone out. Once you get out of allstar difficulty the RNG happens way less often and the better player wins 95% of the time.
Its always been this way. All star plays like a crapshow online because this game needs to appeal to a larger crowd. If they fixed hanging pitches and check swing abuse this game would be [censored] near perfect IMO -
Unfortunately hanging pitches or spiking pitches on good releases plays into the same RNG the same as good/good outs on offence. I don't think that can be fixed without making pitching incredibly over powered combined with the feeling of a dice roll with hitting.
-
Agree All-Star feels like where the problem is.
-
This is likely to get a little wrath, but I like the RNG factor. Real baseball, when you think about it, depends so much on chance because it's so [censored] hard. Failure is the overwhelming norm when the best of the best do it 7 out of 10 times, so that component has to be built in.
I could be way off, but I think of it like this: the PCI isn't your bat, but, rather, your eyes. If you've played, think back to hitting. Just because you're looking in a particular spot, zoned in, and time it just right, doesn't necessarily mean you're going to succeed in getting your round bat on the round ball in just the right way, every time. It simply doesn't work like that. While you may blast a few when you feel you've timed it just right while looking at just the right spot, more often than not, you're a little under, or just off that sweet spot...
All these rankings and skill attributes only influence the chance of you succeeding, so whether you choose directional hitting or choose to "perfectly" place your own PCI, there are no guarantees, and there shouldn't be. Even if you're incredible and your ability to hit puts you in the upper echelon, you're still going to fail more than you succeed. If that wasn't the case, this would cease to be a baseball simulation. That has to be cooked in.
NO disrespect to the OP, because it is frustrating (professionals sometimes break bats over their knees), but dead center on the PCI with max power, as hard as that is to achieve on its own, should still only clear the wall about half of the time, give or take. Otherwise, you're just playing Missile Command (dating myself).

Most people here need the dice rolls and don’t want them gone. The guy telling you how amazing the RNG feels doesn’t even hit .300 WITH THE HELP you think he wants to know what he’s really hitting?

I don’t think you understand my point. I’m definitely among those impacted negatively by RNG. I’d easily be hitting .320-.330 without it. I’m just saying that some of you act like you are supposed to hit .400 and score 15 runs a game. There is already too many 15-14 slugfests. Some people also act like RNG doesn’t positively impact them at times too. Most rational people that know their skill level have pitching as the biggest problem in this game-which it is. The people that don’t like the hitting are the ones that think they are 10x better than they actually are. Hop right off your high horse and join the rest of us in reality champ.

The problem here is that certain people think that their opinion is the only one that matters. I think input should matter more. Let guys bat .450 and get 15 runs a game if they can. Ive seen 20 to 10 baseball games irl. On every level. If you are on that day let them kill it. My opinon is let skill win when skill executes.

The game is way to generous in what it calls good timing.
So many times I see inside pitches being fly outs to the opposite field with “good” timing and people complaining that it should be a homerun because they had “good” timing in the middle of the PCI

I said headshots were one shot one kill. Shots to the chest can vary because you don’t know what his setup is. He could easily be wearing a kevlar plate that requires more shots to kill him.
