Something we need to appreciate about this game
-
While we can all agree that no game is perfect, I think we need to give the game props where it's due.
I absolutely love the fact that no two cards play the same in this game. You can look at attributes, ask other people for opinions, watch reviews on youtube, but until you get the cards and use them, you really don't know how they will play.
Every card is unique, and attributes are only a small part of the performance of the cards.
If you've ever played other sports video games you can appreciate how incredibly difficult that is. SDS doesn't do a skin change on players, they design each player from the ground up, and the result is an unprecedented amount of diversity in gameplay and lineup builds.

Can’t tell if this is satire or what
Not because I disagree, but because I made the exact same post a couple days ago

No one complains about content. It’s the game play, hitting , pitching, defense .

Yeah but maybe his point is that they deserve more praise for the things that aren’t broken every year?
I do appreciate the content even if I want to see more modern Giants players represented. As a kid I froze my [censored] off at Candlestick but 3x WS titles in such a short span still keeps me warm at night... wait, what are we talking about?

Of course that's my point. I literally started the thread by saying the game isn't perfect, but we need to give props where it's due.
Some folks just need to be negative. They can, it doesn't change my outlook on life!

I will say I 100% agree no game is perfect and SDS did an absolutely amazing job adjusting to the COVID crisis and giving us great content. And COVID is the biggest reason why this game is still wildly broken, Content is super easy to release while working from home. However fixing coding issues is a different beast altogether, and not being able to contact each other with reliability is a killer. I've noticed that when they tried to fix one thing multiple others would break because they couldn't communicate properly. But on the topic of having content you'd be hard pressed to find a better game designer then SDS.

"Game is perfect". No movie is perfect either. And this B movie mlb the show. Doesn't even make the Hulu cut.

You've played 37 online games in the last 7 days.
You must really enjoy B movies that can't even make the Hulu cut.

This game is so much better than it used to be and so much better than other sports games like madden. Sure it's not perfect, but the issues it has are more on the side if annoying than gamebreaking.
If you look at madden, the best way to win last year was to run the ball every play on offense with your star running back that you have to use extra in game currency on to equip with an ability that lets you juke like superman and on defense you look up crazy blitzes online that break the AI and are incredibly unrealistic.
In MLB, you get great players by playing the game who don't need to be upgraded after you get them just to be useable. You have different game modes that different people enjoy. Gameplay could always be better but you win games more or less the same way that you see on TV. You can watch and learn from youtubers to improve at the game but at the end of the day, you need to be good on the sticks to win. This game is not perfect but it is quite good

And no contracts! I just downloaded NBA2K20 for free with PS Plus and have been dabbling with the MyTeam. Just like with EA on NHL and FIFA you buy a player and every now and then you have to buy contracts just to play with them. Thank God SDS just lets you play with the guys.
