I suck... someone please grace me with their knowledge of how to hit online and conquer input lag. I’m so slumped right now and I cannot get out of it. Everything I swing at is “too late”, even a hanging curveball. Please give me your wisdom as to how to regain above 0% success rate at hitting a round, stitched ball moving in the ranges of 70-100 mph from 60 video game feet away from me.

One go and do practice on hall of fame or legend. Ensure you turn the sliders up for fastball speed. Leave the off speed alone. Secondly take pitches so you can learn your opponents tendencies. Everyone goes thru this even the best players.

First year playing the show. I got hooked though. Got Biggio last weekend working on Mantle. No money spent. Try this video to enter the wormhole...

    https://youtu.be/P-slltCPNzM

    The three best tips:

    1. Before going online, take BP against Chapman with the fastball slider juiced. I like to set up a repeating play with bases loaded and 3 balls to only get fastballs and expedite. When I get perfect or a HR, I immediately head online.

    2. Order and use the controller knobs. They really help control. Watch Koogs online video on hitting for more info.

    3. Don’t swing until you have 2 strikes. After about 3 innings, the other pitcher will start throwing you strikes.

    And also stop sucking.

My tip make sure your inet is good or your probably going to struggle second tip don't play offline unless it's practice on legend. Literally losing games left and right because my net sucks right now and my timing is way off because of showdown. It's like i've never played the game before and have went from 2 - 3 games off WS to Pennant.

    Get a monitor

As for KF they can help but if your aggressive on the stick they easily come off well all i've had anyway.

Online play has always been bad with this game series. I rarely bother with it. I have no idea how people can play 500 plus games online. Offline is WAYYY better. Online is full of lag and luck and constant users exploiting glitches. My same room same TV play against a friend has me consistently beating him. Online though, he can beat me because of lag and all the other issues it has. How SDS hasn't been able to figure out online after all these years is puzzling.

Focus on a zone you like to hit in and look for that location, weather it be up and in or down and away etc. wait for that location and rake

Also commit to an approach... weather it’s waiting for off speed or my favorite approach turning on all fastballs.. then when he gives u a fastball it’s either a long foul ball or a homer.

I play online H2H, and have a .357 average and I play with the rangers and Marlins 90% of my games

If ur playing diamond dynasty considering your team is all hall of famers try this approach and u should start raking.

I’m not great (ds/cs if lucky). I see the ball way better after playing Hall of fame. Also, it is imperative that you switch to game mode on your tv for online play if you’re not on a monitor. It won’t make it look slower, but you’ll see better results. I still can’t turn on an up and in fastball, but I feel that I at least have a shot in most games.

My tip is to just keep playing online, figure out your opponents pitching and you're good to go. I know people say to practice against the CPU on hall of fame or legend, but I don't recommend that because the CPU is different than a real player.
I was like you when I first started online, but with time I got better. I'm not the best player online but I'm not bad either. Always had a winning record every year since 17, never played any of the games before that online cause I actually lived somewhere without internet lol.

It's inconsistent though.... I can hit a 99mph fastball okay in one game and then next game even if I guess and swing as soon as it's released I'm always late on fastballs. It's fine in other modes... It's just H2H modes that are a mess. The pitcher don't pick up the ball on bunts, the catcher don't throw on steals, every other game fastballs are coming so fast it's impossible to hit.... I can't believe they don't fix this stuff.
