Kerry Wood vs Cole Hamels?

Kerry Wood was great for me last year, this one looks even better, but the control looks sketchy. Any one use him so far in upper divisions? I've heard great things about Hamels this year but in previous years I sucked with him, is he different this year? I have 1 game left to win for world series. Who's your guy?

Hamels has been my best pitcher this year. I bought him for 50k weeks ago and still consider that a steal!

Control, pitch selection, varying pitch speeds. His circle change is unreal, and his cutter runs in on righties and away on lefties. Kind of funky delivery. Well worth the $$$.

Hamels is your safe bet. He’s probably my favorite starter I’ve used all year. His cutter is almost unhittable, and if you mix in the four seam and circle change he is great. I highly recommend him. I pitched with Wood yesterday, and he’s nasty. He can be a little hard to control though.

I think guys with high control do really well for me. Hamels is as good as it gets. Nothing in his stats say he should be the best pitcher in the game, but he sure plays like it. Also, I’ve noticed Smoltz has incredible control as well. Not the best pitches, but when I can consistently dot them, he becomes good.

A sneaky play for me has been Saberhagen. For some reason when I pitch with him his control is pinpoint. He doesn't overpower hitters but the ball goes where I want it to go, and avoiding the RNG meatballs down the middle is key in inducing weak contact. I've had him for 3-4 starts so far I think I gave up 1 run total in probably 20 or so innings.

last night i did an RS game around the mid 600's so All Star
wood let in 1 run through 6 IP, absolutely devastating selection of pitches guy couldn't touch him
i lost in the 10th inning mind you but thats typical No Clutch Me
