I mean Jacob deGromm is the BEST pitcher in MLB since ‘16 and has won back to back Cy Young awards..!!??
Pete Alonso won HR derby, Rookie of the year and set rookie HR record. C’mon now!!!!
That’s just the current roster. How Sixto, Howard, May, Patino all have better cards than deGromm is mind boggling!

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I don't think Pete's season last year was 99 level. (Though I mean minor leaguers are getting it, so what do I know? lol). Degrom absolutely does deserve a 99.

Ya, I agree prospects shouldn't get 99's but none of that has anything to do with money. It's variety, which in the end, is a good thing. Especially when virtually nothing in DD is stuck behind a paywall. -

I agree about other games tho, ive played madden, nba, my teams they are worse but sds is on a path right now. And it starts with completely fake cards. Its the beginning. Team affinities are behind a pay wall for over half the community who cant handle showdown. If youre good at the game you can cruise through with not as much money. But for a bigger % of the player base they pay. Also cant quick sell collected cards that takes like 200k out of my stubb count i would have had every other year. The writing is on the wall. These guys are on a hot path directly for the 2k style my team. Rng online play and overpriced packs that average players struggle for. I obviously think mlb manages the balance best because im playing every day.

I somewhat agree... there is an imbalance for the “common” player and the amount of stub loss/hoarding that is accumulated is a bit much. Having 150\k+ players that have to be locked and never see the field is a bit much.

I would venture to say that LS collection "gatekeepers" are over 150k stubs because of how easy it is to make stubs.

- acquired every purchasable card in the game the past 2 years running.
- barring any 'Moments Extreme' shenanigans, am on pace to own EVERY card in MLBTS 20 by October.

Exactly. I haven't needed to spend any real money since the beginning because it's been incredibly easy to accumulate stubs. The amount of free packs too is crazy. Compared to any other sports game, this is easily the most generous. I can pretty much get any card in the game without spending anything. You can't say that with any other sports ultimate team mode.

Yea i get it, but i mean the guys that arent good enough are climbing a pay wall because they cant win showdown and dont have patience. Yea its not by definition a pay wall. And its not one for me. But you get my point? The show does the best job of putting out free content but you gotta be average or better. The guy earlier said "common" players, that was fitting. Lol just my opinion. Im not gonna complain anymore than this thread

You gotta put in 1 of three things:
- Time (either grinding up those Innings or flipping on the market)
- Talent (winning BR/WS)
- Treasure (spend your way to the top)
If this were a paywall situation, #3 would be the only option.
But it's not.
