I get the need for the reverse engineered swing analysis changes with a tournament coming up (what will be an unsuccessful attempt to reduce justified complaints), but since they didn’t change the underlying dumpster fire of a hitting engine, it’s still a pig. Exit velocity is still way too low on many good contact hits and home runs can still be had (no doubters at that) on absolute garbage (early timing on a splitter completely out of the zone). The only way to get hits on ground balls is still with garbage contact (all solid hit grounders still go right to defenders) and people can still foul off pitches out of the strike zone with bad timing (very early/late) consistently.

Maybe instead of spending all that time creating an unnecessary visual for hitting, you should have spent that time actually fixing the system (top dot good contact by power hitters is still ok results for instance).

I need to spend some more time with the patch as I've only played 3 games but it seems it's just reinforced my belief that hitting is completely random. I got a few good contacts on balls that barely touch the first pci circle. Launch angles dony make sense since pretty much every thing is just a line drive. I hit bombs with bad pci placement and early timing yet I fly out to the warning track with perfect perfects. The game is great except for the rng pitching and hitting.

Sorry you dont get much support anymore. Most people have given up on them actually fixing hitting. Keep fighting the good fight tho

Hitting really is starting to look random. I'm tired of the guys that talk about skill like it has any place. I'm not good or bad, just middling. I've scored against good pitchers on the higher levels of difficulty, only to have the next game completely nerf my high diamond hitters with a low common pitcher.

Personally, I love the new hitting feedback, and I think they did a great job fixing a bunch of fielding issues. I think pitching could use some tweaking, but I think the game is shaping up.

I can’t really understand how this many people complain about hitting with the amount of home runs that happen already. I’m pretty sure some people would be fine if they made an arcade mode where everything touched went 600 feet, as long as it was called “Hardcore Competitive” mode.

I would agree but then again people complain about common lefties in the moonshine event so...... they will never make everyone happy. If the game was perfect someone would complain by going "i dont see how they will improve this game next year. Way to go SDS"

It’s not about more home runs in total, but about less on bad results. I shouldn’t be hitting a home run on early contact where the pci isn’t even touching the ball, and then getting good okay 88 from Reggie on a hit right on his top dot (I have done both since the patch). And the ground ball issue is (less talked about) legit, as it seems like the coding itself forces hard hit grounders to be right at infielders.

You’ve hit the nail on the head, Bard.

I really resent how all of these gameplay flaws are passed off as realistic simulation.

Maybe some of the community is ok with getting one hittable pitch in five vs the cpu on veteran, and then getting a perfect ground out to short on that one pitch, because, “That’s baseball”.

To me, that is not a fun video game.

The arrogance of SDS hearing months of complaints from their customers and responding with a patch that changes nothing, but circles the wagons and tells us we don’t know what we are talking about is palpable.

I knew this is what it would be. All it did was show how prevalent RNG is in this game even more than it did before. 😂
