Pitcher Fielding

I apologize in advance for the dumb question, but how do I throw to first base (as the pitcher) when the hitter hits the ball straight to me. I’ve tried pressing various buttons, but the pitcher doesn’t throw anywhere and the batter always reaches base. I’ve already lost 2 games due to this, so I just had to ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You’re talking moments I assume. Just changed the default defense which I believe is “primetime”. Switch it to button or button accuracy
