Tips for Lefty v Lefty?
-
I get absolutely destroyed by left handed pitching. I can hit RHP with a right handed bats well and hit right handed bats vs LHP well too but I look so fooled when going LHB vs LHP I’m often late on the heat and I chase pretty much everything. I know lefty/lefty is the hardest matchup in the game but I’m not going to put up a lot of runs if half of my lineup is goes 0-4.
Also does every lefty have a shift on them this year? when I do make contact With LHB it’s generally hit right to second base who is playing in the outfield lol.
Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly, you're probably in your own head about it. I had that problem last year, custom practice helps.

Been crushing lefties lately with left handed hitters.. Most guys I play will throw high inside fastball start ur pci there and pull it and can hit bombs

Once u crush a homer or a long foul ball u turned on they will start throwing sliders in dirt. Lay off then crush high inside fastball again. Or can sit low slider and if he misses location can crush it

Most people pitch predictable in lefty lefty matchups. They either throw hard stuff inside or offspeed away. I always take the approach that real life baseball players have; swing inside out. Look to turn on hard stuff inside and then adjust to the slow stuff away. Careful against sinkerballers though, they might get you swinging at pitches way inside for a broken bat because they look good coming in.

I'd recommend splitting the zone in half and only looking inside.

THIS...I start my pci high & in and just go up & down to hit inside pitches. If the pitch goes to the outside of the plate just let it go. It’s very rare that guys who pitch outside off speed stuff will throw 3 strikes doing it. More times than not you will draw a walk. At that point they’ll start pitching more inside where you’ll be ready to turn on them. Good luck!
