No money spent LS collection

Only Arenado,DeGrom and Mad Max away with 210K

There are so many stubs in this year's game. This is the first time I think it's possible. I need Belli, DeGrom (regretting selling him for 60k a while back), Mad Max to complete. It's been fun doing it.

It’s gonna be difficult to get Mantle before reaching prestige with NMS unless you flip a lot. I had good pack luck prob 350k worth of diamond pulls, flipped moderately and still reached prestige 6 cards short all NL cards
So I’m level 50 diamond and just completed collections. My pack luck has been okay but not crazy (Arenado, Lindor (twice), Judge and Alonso). I think what I attribute it most to is just showdowns and selling all event/program rewards. Have to be disciplined enough to not buy packs though. That’s prob the hardest part

I have 5 teams left (Yankees, Angles, A's, Red Sox and Astros). I think it was slightly easier last year for some reason, though I just might have had good pack luck and not remembered. I think the big thing separating this year from last year is the price that the innings bosses sold at vs. this year. I want to say i remember getting like 80k for some guys where as you're lucky to get 40k this year.

For me it was lots of luck with packs and several, and I mean SEVERAL ongoing expensive investments. I'm talking 40k-100k on a single card that later would be 2x-3x its value when I purchased it.

With prices this high, how is anyone managing to complete the Mantle collection? I’ve resigned myself to not finishing it unless I pack a coupe high diamonds, and my pack luck has been unbelievably bad for the past month or so. Just the amount of flipping cards required for one of the high diamonds right now is insane
I watched this video and literally sold every card I earned that was not LS until I got enough. Bought Bellinger and finished NL this morning and after selling the diamonds I'm flipping right now because the market took a dive....I should have enough for Trout to finish the AL.

Like many said here, last year I sold everything and spent my free time flipping cards. I can’t make World Series or go 12-0, but all these things add up. I was able to get mays by about this time last year.
This year, I’ve been much more mellow. I wanted to keep the inning rewards and I don’t have the same amount of down time to flip like I did last year. So, this year my focus is essentially whatever the honus card will be this year. So, I lock in all the inning cards. I keep everything along the xp. I’ve kept the event rewards I’ve earned. I buy a 50 pack bundle about once per week for fun.
I’m still around 400-500k, but have pulled 4 90+ diamonds. I’ve thought about starting to lock in some of the collections, but if I spent all my stubs I’d still be 100k short. So, I’ll play this out. See what free diamonds I get along the do path when I get there. I will get mantle eventually.
So, it’s possible, as was said above. But, that has to be your focus unless you are really good or have insane pack luck.

Here's a good one on earning stubs without flipping

It was definitely easier last year. The content drops every friday for the first three months would drop the market. So, it was easy to flip, and the ls diamond stayed reasonable because they got pulled back to earth every week. The lack of choice packs this year has kept everything high in my opinion.

Flipping has become a non-efficient means of gaining stubs imo. When there's a decent gap during a new program or event, then absolutely. But I was watching a Gomes video and he's sitting here talking about flipping for 150-200 stubs per card and as a former flipper, that is not worth it. I don't flip for less than 250 and majority of my profits were around the 300-350 range when I did flip.
IMO the much more efficient way is investing and I've all but proven it with 19 and 20. Buy when demand is high, hold for a month or two, and resell when it's 3x it's initial value. Normally I'd be investing in silver -> gold potential players but obviously that isn't happening this year.
So, advice for 21, buy the first Ranked Seasons and First Inning Program exclusives ASAP and stock up at maybe 20-30 each. I remember purchasing 5 Dunn, 5, Robert's, 5 Seaver for 2k each, and 50 Shattered Glass bats for 1500. Made bank bro.
Also the previous LS event had 78 Machado, I purchased over 120 for around 400 stubs, he skyrocketed once the event had ended.

Just sell everything, flip at your discretion, and do not buy anything other than LS cards. Go team by team, division by division, league by league. That's all I've done, and I've got the entire AL completed, and the NL central done. It's also inevitable that you'll get some help eventually (DeGrom out of a pack - that sort of thing). It can be done.
-
Like last year, I won't have the LS collections done until the winter. I will however get the big Legend/Flashback collection done relatively quick.
