It’s a video game. This topic has been discussed on here ad nauseum.
Obviously, you are free to play the game the way you want, but you can expect to have a lot of opponents throw over or step off until you stop taking that step or get picked off.
Also, this is a tactic most commonly adopted by poor hitters, so way to out yourself.
What a terrible assumption, stop trying to deflect and move the goal posts. I'm a CS player that overall has hit approx 265-270. Am i the greatest? No, but I'm also not playing on a monitor so i stall out in the mid-800s, maybe I'll hit WS this year maybe not.
Also, look what I'm saying, i don't do it all the time because that's how you get picked off. I'm talking about great base runners with great speed taking a larger lead. I've seen entitlement mentioned here, you know what entitlement looks like? Refusing to play the game because your opponent is taking a larger lead with a great base runner!
Honestly though you guys need to stop deflecting and moving the goalposts and address this statement that you continue to avoid: Do you feel its wrong for a player such as Rickey Henderson to take a longer lead than a guy like Yadier Molina or Miguel Cabrera?
Statcast and the entirety of baseball history disagrees with you. Wake up.
In this game you do not need the extra lead to Steal a base with Henderson, I steal a lot in this game and rarely take an extra step, no need to. I suck at hitting. Realistically those slow runners take the same lead as the fast runners in this game. Every player in this game takes the same normal lead. Saying Miggy or Molina or any other slow runner takes a shorter lead does not exist in this game. You have a right to take the extra lead and I have a right to step off or throw over as many times as I want or the game allows.

Its not wrong for you to take a longer lead, its not long for me to hold you on. Its a stalemate. Guess we find out who's more stubborn.
You can't pretend this game is real life either, we all know giving a fast runner the extra lead is a guaranteed stolen base in this game.
It is wrong of you to refuse to play the game and not allow it to continue ... 100%. It's also entirely unrealistic.
A helpful lesson for those who get upset when a pitcher continues to step off or throw over.

There's an article on statcast lead distance for people like yourself that are unfamiliar with how baseball is played.
This isn't the major leagues chief. We've got 102 mph sinkers that are most effective up and in. Lazy fly balls at the track that defenders with diamond defense can't handle. Runners getting thrown out at first on weak hits to right field far more often than is reasonable. Catchers that are essentially Swiss cheese. Perfect/perfect fly balls from the greater power hitters of all time that die at the track, and good/okay moonshots by pitchers. Base runners refusing to advance on a ball that clearly won't get caught, which eventually leads to two runners standing on the same base. I hate to break this to you, but you're playing a video game, and a flawed one at that.
It is ridiculously easy to steal in this game even without an extended lead, so why is it your opponents responsibility to concede an even larger than necessary lead? If you really feel that entitled to your extended lead because "that's baseball", fine. Just don't [censored] and moan when your opponent steps off and throws over because guess what? That's video games. They can do whatever they want to try and beat you within the confines of the game, and complaining about their actions is hypocritical.
But we aren't talking about playing the game. We are talking about people refusing to play refusing to allow the game to move forward because your being a sour puss over a fast runner taking a lead. Are you listening to yourself? My god how embarrassing.
It's the I'm taking my ball and going home mentality that's the issue.... All because rickey henderson gets a bigger lead than yaddy molina... This is such a clown show.
Go watch baseball for once in your life.
You refuse to continue the game by taking an extra lead cause you feel entitled, I refuse to play the game cause you take the extra lead. The first action is what is delaying the game. Me stepping off is a reaction to your action. If you do not take the extra lead then the game is not delayed. Again my action to delay the game is one that you caused by your extra lead which you do not need to steal a base but feel that you should be entitled to with out a reaction from the pitcher. Even fast runners get picked off in this game.

People like you ruin the online experience for everyone else. But enjoy your few extra "wins" that don't matter anyway.

People who feel entitled to take a extra lead to win ruin the experience how does stepping off give me any extra wins. I take it the only way you can win is by taking extra leads.

The fact that you are willing to exploit a bug to stop a game from continuing just because you don't like something the other guy is doing makes you a cheater. I hope you get banned.

The player taking the extra lead is the one exploited the game. I am reacting to his reaction of the extra lead that is not needed in this game. By playing smart and not giving up a base to a cheeser makes me a cheater. Your statement is laughable

I call it like I see it. You're a cheater.

You must be blind, Go troll somewhere else

The game already gives you a good leadoff. If you get greedy and take extra steps you deserve a throw over or 6 until you show respect. Same thing happens in real life if someone is taking an extra leadoff

You have no idea what cheating is.
