I’ll start by saying I know I’m not good at this game, but matching me with players that have reached Prestige status or that have World Series banners is disheartening. I‘m not one to quit - I’ll play and get crushed but it sure takes the fun out of it.
You would think that the matching system could compare online batting averages before matching people up? Speaking for myself it sure would make it more enjoyable for me - knowing I might have a fighting chance before the game starts.
-
Sounds like you are beating yourself before the game starts. Ignore their banners, prestige level and record and just play. Tougher competition will make you better.
-
Only way you get better is by taking your lumps. Also, never quit no matter how bad you’re getting beat. You’re never out of a game, especially this year. Things will just start going your way all of a sudden.
-
Are you talking about RS or event games? In RS, as long as you don't let the search bar go too far you'll match up with someone fairly close in current rating. In events, you'll be matched up depending on your current run. Unless it's the middle of the night or something.
But upon entering it's just luck of the draw. All event runs start the same for everyone, no matter their rating XP, or anything else.

I’ve played 6 ws opponents in the event and I’m 3-3 against them. The one thing that that do better then a lot of players is have patience. 5hey rarely swing at balls they know are gonna get them out. It’s funny because mos to them aren’t [censored] hats
-
I just beat a prestige player with a stacked squad in events and I'm just barely at a silver level 40. Just go in with the mentality that it's going to be a good game.
-
I have more fun when I don't care about winning. Probably because I'm awful online.

Hold left on the dpad while matchmaking, it will keep your opponents rating closer to your own so u wont run into many ws players untill u reach the upper couple divisions. It takes a little longer to matchmake but it is well worth it in my experience, ive had alot more fun online since starting to do this

Yeah you should never pay attention to that stuff. I’ve beaten guys with World Series banners and people who have prestiged. I’ve even came back from a few runs to win the game after not being able to hit for most of the game. You’re never out of a game unless you get mercy ruled.
-
You have no reason to fear a player because they have reached prestige level. I am prestige level 10 and I suck, had bronze guys kick my [censored]. It just says I play a lot and do a lot of programs and missions. Bot to mention countless hours trying and failing Showdown.
WS banner is a little more troubling, but not all WS players are the greatest, most beat me and some crush every thing. But I have seen some who cheesed there way there and at the core are crappy players, but not often.

So I climb back on today to play some RS - midday on a Sunday thinking there should be thousands of people playing. I’m ranked 460 and get matched with somebody at 650.

Sounds like SDS to me. Headed straight into the EA Model.
