I was not having fun with this game, it was getting frustrating. Every game got bogged down into 1-0 fastball fests. The patch seems to have changed all that. Timing windows have felt natural and hitting has felt more rewarding. Consequently, I’m seeing more variety of pitching now, and success on the hill still seems earned. Great job SDS. This couldn’t have been easy to do during the quarantine, but wanted to say thank you.

Care to fill me in on what the patch specifically addressed? I saw there was an update but I'd more or less given up on online for the time being, just grinding offline. But this sounds promising I hope?

Timing windows were increased just enough to make fastballs hit again if they are predictable. It feels like real baseball again. So far online is good again but tread carefully, we are still early in the patch.

Pitching accuracy is still flawed. If you face someone that takes a lot your in for a long game. Makes you then throw down the middle and get crushed with the hitting increased.

Ya, I'd prefer if they patched this to improve control on high control pitchers but if you're using a low control this would still happen.. seperate the two

I think it did need to be fixed, specifically the timing windows. After playing yesterday I think they went too far - on HOF the game plays pretty good now but on All Star its arcade - you can not get a fastball by anyone and really I almost stopped throwing them (had two way above the zone get hit out on good/okay's) They should have left the pci size alone this wasnt the problem - its the ball center of the pci and getting a good/okay thats the issue and they do need to improve pitch accuracy.

This is exactly what I’ve been asking for. Kinda ridiculous when pitchers with a high control rating can’t seem to spot pitches.

Or serve up meatballs. Pitchers like Maddux might go 10 starts in his prime before ever throwing a meatball lol

Neither of those are something I want all the time but 2-1 is much more enjoyable than 12-10 for me

That's why its subjective and really SDS will never please everyone with changes they make

Where I embrace and enjoy this patch others will hate it that's life really and not much can be done about it.

There is no happy middle to achieve here as each change will bring it's own new issues and complaints that is why I just roll with the punches and make do

I don't think they needed to touch the pci size, but the timing windows had to happen. Its not perfect, but at least i have a chance to hit fastballs now.

I just tried online and it's the same frustrating [censored] as before for me. I was consistently late against Newhouser. It's to the point where online play just isn't fun.

It's something to do with lag or servers I have no idea. But there's something off this year. I was never amazing at the game or anything but good enough. Was championship series level the last few years and events I'd win at least 2/3 of my games. This year I'm consistently losing to scrubs I know I'm better than solely because of pitch lag. I've never seen so many opponents swinging 20 feet before the ball crosses the plate on offspeed stuff, striking out 21 times yet winning 3-2 bc they timed 1 swing correctly. It's a joke.

I thought last year's game played better than it had in years. Extremely disappointed this year.

Perhaps your internet is the issue - my experience is you cant get a fastball by anyone anymore.

Yea, probably my wired fiber. Lost 5 of 6 event games and rarely had over 4 win runs. Switched to mobile hot spot and won 6. Mainly all gold lineup most of the run but results were sure better with mobile hot spot. Hits were more rewarding, errors were down, located pitches better. You simply won't convince me that really good is really bad internet is a detriment. Bad should be imo but not really good.

Why is everyone so happy about the patch? For weeks I've been reading post after post saying, "We just want good user input to be rewarded!" but this patch does no such thing. It actually makes ALL user input more rewarding, regardless of whether it's good or not. Elite players are hitting better, mediocre players are hitting better and even terrible players like me are hitting better.

The complaining was never about improving the game. You all just didn't want to admit that hitting was too hard for you so you begged the developers to coddle you and make it easier. After all the conspiracy theories about RNG and little billy codes, we at last arrive at the truth. You really just wanted to be little billy too, and now that SDS has given you what you want you can barely contain your excitement.

We're all little billy now, boys. Enjoy! 🙂
