My understanding is that on rare occasions, the odd player may come to get scanned at the studio, but it's not a regular occurrence.
I don't have any info to share currently on changes to the process going forward.

To give a little bit of clarity on how the face scan process works, we scan players each year at Spring Training using a pretty elaborate camera rig, so remote scanning using that same technology isn't possible.
Participation is optional of course, with some players choosing to be scanned and others choosing not to, and we fully respect their choice either way.
Just wanted to offer some context on on this because I know that's something a lot of people are interested in.
@AndyWilk09_PSN -- I have a Backbone, which is a similar device (remote play, etc.) and there can definitely be some lag, but a lot of that has to do with my network. If the bandwidth happens to be a little thinner, I might notice more lag, but it's usually not too bad.
@AndyWilk09_PSN -- to the best of my knowledge, Franchise mode is the same across all versions of the game.
If I may, I'd suggest another option, and don't take this as me "shilling" here, but a PlayStation Portal might be worth considering compared to a Switch 2 (unless the S2 is something want for other reasons). It's significantly cheaper and it would be an extension of your existing PS experience, rather than forcing you to start over in terms of progress.
Again, the Switch presents a different, but also awesome, experience, so if you're looking to get a Switch 2 so you can play it with your kids as they get older or something like that, that totally makes sense. But if it's mainly about your MLBTS experience and making it more portable, I'd go with the Portal.
Hope that's helpful!

Congrats on the new baby! That's amazing news.
@TheBigPapa55_PSN -- I ran this by the team before the holiday and we were curious as to where you were entering the name. I'm assuming the My Squad screen? It's possible that a portion of the word is banned for some reason, which seems strange, I know.
Any other details you might be able to share would be great too. Thanks!
@Chrono_Omega_PSN -- The letter of the rule may say one thing, but everyone seems to understand what the spirit of the rule is. Still, I've gone ahead and fixed the rule to remove this loophole.
We all have tough games that frustrate us, but the rule on these forums is that we show others respect, and it's non-negotiable.
Thank you.
Can't speak to '26 plans at this point, but don't know of any plans to add any New Threads cards to '25.
@rageincage007_XBL -- Interesting. Let's keep an eye on that for sure.
Hey folks,
The team believes they may have a fix in place for this. If anyone is still having issues, let me know.
