This has apparently been a thing experienced by many this year. Not sure if it’s platform specific or not but this forum has been replete with such accounts this past year

You can even scan yourself into the game now. Just go to the Face Scan and follow the instructions.

Have the game generate the best S5 lineup for you, and then you will be able to put whatever cards you want in your lineup. This resets the parameters from last season.

UPDATE: The thing is happening with my copy of MLB The Show 19. Controller locks up and can go no further than the title screen.

You, me, and every other person who owns a Switch. There is a very, very long thread in the Diamond Dynasty portion of the forum. Unlike some of them, I have solace in being able to play on my PS5 or XBox X if I want to. So, the Nintendo (or Google, or Sony, or wherever it may be) server outage doesn't bug me at all.

I believe that once you accumulate enough progress to reach stage 2 of the program you can no longer complete tasks from stage 1. I think stage 2 is unlocked at 85 or 90 so you probably crossed that threshold midway through the Altuve stat mission. I can’t verify though because I’m a Switch user…
