Bring Back Online Connected Franchise – It’s Time to Give MLB The Show Back to True Franchise Players
I’m going to say what a lot of us have been thinking for years now:
Online Connected Franchise was the funnest part of MLB The Show — and removing it was a huge mistake.
That mode wasn’t just something to pass time. It was the heart of competitive baseball gaming for so many of us. It allowed us to:
    Run multiple seasons
    Do full drafts
Develop and build our players’ ratings
Make real trades with real strategy
    Build rivalries
    Create long-term storylines
Actually feel invested in our teams
It wasn’t just “play a game and move on.” It was a true baseball experience.
The current online league setup just doesn’t compare. You can’t go multiple seasons properly. You can’t draft and build your farm system the way franchise baseball is meant to be played. You can’t truly develop players and watch them grow into stars. There’s no long-term progression. No dynasty building. No real depth.
It feels watered down and shallow.
For those of us who grew up grinding connected franchise seasons with friends, rebuilding teams from the ground up, managing payroll, scouting prospects, and competing year after year — that was MLB The Show at its best.
I won’t sugarcoat it: I will not buy another copy of MLB The Show until Online Connected Franchise returns. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Diamond Dynasty is great for some players. Quick online modes are fine. But there is a huge community of true baseball gamers who want strategy, realism, progression, and long-term competition.
