I own the game for both PS5 and Nintendo Switch for On-the-go playing. When reinforcing or moving fans to a different hexagon on the Switch, the speed at which the fans move or reinforce is extremely slow when pressing and holding. It’s not game-breaking but kind of annoying. It also applies to trying to highlight another hexagon when pressing and holding in that direction. I thought maybe they limited the speed you can move around or reinforce so much because it’s too much for the switch to handle but I actually tried tapping the button as fast as I could and that speed doesn’t seem to be limited. I can go much faster that way but it requires me constantly tapping the D-Pad as fast as I can 99 times in most cases. It’s not like this on PS5 and was not like this on Switch in MLB ‘22. Great game overall though SDS! This is my only complaint. Otherwise I’m having a ton of fun this year!

HDMI 2.0 can handle up to 1440p @ 120hz on these current consoles. You simply wouldn’t be able to reach 4K @ 120hz without HDMI 2.1. Also the current variable refresh rate on PS5 is only available with HDMI 2.1. Having a TV/Display that has HDMI 2.1 and can go up to 120hz would allow you to take advantage of all of the features of PS5 (4K @ 120hz + Variable Refresh Rate). I have not been able to experience this yet because I still haven’t gotten an HDMI 2.1 display but I’m very excited to at some point. Looking at getting an LG OLED display. Long story short you can get 120hz on ps5 over HDMI 2.0 as long as the display allows that refresh rate up to 1440p resolution.

This just started for me as well last night. Could be stick drift. I did have Apple headphones plugged into my controller and in the past Apple headphones have caused my controllers to go haywire when plugged in for some reason.

Although this is a signature card, I have a STRONG feeling this won’t be Pedro’s final card in this game. SDS said in one of their first streams that Pedro was going to get some insane cards. This leads me to believe this isn’t his final form.

Bro, you’re lucky if this just started for you. This has been the case for me for the past two years. In fact, I often double the amount of hits during the game compared to my opponent but once that 7th inning starts, the switch gets flipped and it’s a home run derby for them. If I don’t make my opponent quit in the first few innings I might as well quit even if I’m up 7-0.

Wow I didn’t think this would bring all the most toxic people in the community to one post but I guess I should clarify now, I’m not angry at SDS. I have almost all of the affinities completely done. I just know this has affected many people along the way and I had lost a few hours of my life I put into completing them when the server errors caused a failure, so I know they feel the same. Congrats to all of you for having them all done. I was simply asking for it because it would be a nice gesture to ease the pain for many others who have been affected trying to grind these showdowns. People are so negative.

I’m sure you’re more than aware of the server issues causing people to fail final showdowns even though they beat them. It has happened to me a couple times. Can we please have a DOUBLE SHOWDOWN VOUCHER weekend this coming weekend? I feel like I could make up for this issue and all the lost time. Love you guys!

I know that this has been an issue with classic baserunning for several years. Every year when they ask for community feedback I would bring this up and it just got ignored so I gave up asking.

Man, I feel you. I don’t know if it’s because of where I live or what but I know what it feels like to be on each side of the algorithm in their software that decides which person is allowed to hit home runs and who isn’t. The algorithm that decides who gets a significant advantage over the other player to the point where I think that I’m experiencing a completely different game on my end. It definitely exists and I don’t know where down the line my IP got flagged as one of the ones that has that “BS Switch” turned on permanently against them...but here I sit, hoping that I’ll one day get to experience the version of MLB The Show online that I enjoyed so much during the first 2 weeks of this game’s lifecycle. Not only did they F the gameplay into oblivion with that first hitting patch, but I don’t think I will ever be on a level playing field with my opponents again. I just wish someone on the development side would see my IP and realize they forgot to turn that “permanent disadvantage” switch off. I just pray this game comes to PC so I can hopefully build one with enough hardware power to offset their BS algorithm that has made this game so frustrating.

I can tell you bronze Gary Sheffield is the best third baseman in the game.

I agree 100%. Every year I pray they don’t change the hitting at launch because the games are so fun for the first week or two but like clockwork, every year right after launch the hitting gets ruined. You’re right about it being less fun. It’s not like the game is not fun overall, but it’s so much more enjoyable before they do this EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Love you SDS, but please stop doing this lol.
