I honestly feel like 9.5/10 check swings are called a ball/no swing. Anyone feel like they should just get rid of it?

The amount of sac bunts turned into DP’s feel completely in realistic and way too frequent. Just me? Maybe I’m just a bad bad hunter but I don’t feel like I have too much control.

Trying to understand how I have a perfect pitch release with high diamonds and the pitch doesn’t go anywhere near intended. I’d say a perfect pitch hits the spot like 60% of the time. It just feels too random man.

So what’s the point of having that meter if the user input doesn’t mean that much?

Does anyone else have issues with a 2-seam CUTTING IN, rather than tailing out? Even on perfect release Chapman still cuts in over the heart of the plate when I have perfect release on a outside location

Hitting: Hitting is a complete mess. The hitting outcomes are as random and arbitrary as ever. And to add to that, people are hitting HRs (at least against me) at an insane rate. I feel like I'm back in '17 or '18 (don't remember which one) where literally anybody could hit a HR on any pitch. Perfect flyballs are low exit velos and then early/ok swings are HRs. And obviously everybody knows the problem with PCI placement. Balls in the middle are "ok" contact but balls completely outside the PCI are "good" contact. The other day I had a swing where the ball was COMPLETELY outside the inner PCI and it was a "good" contact HR.

Pitching: Pitching is a nightmare. Nobody has any control over their pitches. Fastballs are now at warp-speed and the high sinker is making a comeback. You see the same 3 pitchers in every game.

Fielding: Outsiders don't lock on and infielders make way too many errors

Seriously....what is good about this game? The content. Maybe, but who cares when every aspect of the game is atrocious. Follow CardinalBird on Twitter. The dude is an MLBTheShow OG and basically does nothing but complain about the horrible gameplay

Yup, you nailed all the problems. So much potential. So little communication. At least tell us this is how they intend the game to be played.

They said they were gonna fix the homerun banner glitch weeks ago. Still there. If Coronavirus is causing delay, please say so.

Anyone else feel like they happen way too often? Feels like they rarely happen in real life but occur in the majority of the games I play. Singles turning into outs ....

Other than randomized pitching locations and missed fly balls I like it. I don’t like starters coming in after the 4th or 5th

They said they put an emphasis on it this year to show a difference between and elite catcher and average catcher. Elite catchers definitely don’t miss balls in the dirt as much but I do think they don’t punish catchers like Sanchez who is an absolute liability behind the plate in real life. It’s not a big enough difference to worry about cause the average catchers still do a good job overall imo

Not clear at all. By "community", do you mean the people who create posts on this board or do you mean the player base as a whole?

I'm quite confident that SDS defines it as the latter. If they see the behind-the-curtain metrics telling them people are playing less and less b/c of the patch, they'll revert lickety split. If the metrics don't change and it's just a few people airing their disgust on the boards, that's going to do literally nothing.

I see more people complaining and throwing shade than I do praising the recent updates. Is that fair? So the only feed back they should take in is through analytics of people playing the game?

Is staying silent the best response in your opinion? I want to atleast see if I’m the only person having the same issues, which I’m clearly not. Timing window, random pitching results. Stay Silent? I wasn’t disrespectful just airing some thoughts.

I’ll also die on the hill that’s it not hard to send a few tweets saying they recognize some issues with the patch. And if they don’t think there are issues then say so. It’s the zero communication besides the official twitter account just revealing clues about a new player. That’s all we really get. They need to learn from Fortnite and COD how to communicate with their players in my humble opinion

Random pitching. A perfect pitch lands nowhere near intended. Balls just float over the heart of the plate . I hate listing cause the game places my pitches no where near intended. I get it sometimes happens but 90% of good releases end up so far away it’s just not even rewarding throwing a good pitch. Hitting is tougher but if they balance it out with actually skilled pitching that would be okay.

I don’t like complaining cause that’s all everyone does on here (me included) this is a place where everyone gets together to share their thoughts and I think it needs to be taken seriously considering the offer the ability to buy stubs. (Different point but tons spend money on the game outside of the initial purchase so we should be heard)

The disparity between the amount of results from a good/okay swing contact vs good/good is blowing my mind. More “okay” hits are landing and it’s very lame. Rewarding skill is apart of competition in my opinion

Yes dude the randomness is killing me. How does a perfect 2seam fastball CUT IN 8 INCHES over the middle of the plate? I can handle getting beat if he hits my pitch right where I wanted it. That’s how it should be. Trying to figure out what the point of having a meter is at this point if doesn’t do anything.

Overall silence besides a tweet saying “we hear you” is really ineffective.. games thrive when there is open dialogue between the consumer and developer in my opinion. Wish we could hear more from them instead of leaving us to wonder

Anyone else having issues where pitches are just completely missing even with a “perfect release”? Like a diamond pitcher 4seam fastball Missing by a foot? Feels like pitching is really random regardless of control. I’m sure some people haven’t felt this is a big issue but for me I’m having a tough time locating just a fastball with a perfect release from a great pitcher

I agree with this for sure. Even a good almost perfect pitch release gets hung over the middle of the plate. I can’t even throw a change up without real fear of it hanging [censored] high

Feels like pitching is worthless in this game. The amount of homers coming from pitches off the plate is wild. Does anyone else feel that hitting is just way too easy? I’ve had very few 3-2 type games
