I have no fun playing that game anymore. It's been like that for 18-19 and this one.
I understand that a certain number of players may want the game to be as realistic as possible, but it's still supposed to be a game first, meaning that you should be able to play it and have fun at the get go. Having fun means being able to be average or above after a while, without having to multi-tweak to correct for the imperfections of the game.
If you want to make it harder, fine tweak it. But I was pretty happy without the PCI or good/good perfect/perfect system and the meter to throw.
In the 17 version, that I still play and enjoy, mostly in online franchise mode, I play pure analog with stride, no power button and pure analog on defense at All star or HOF and even with the bugs I enjoy the game and it still feels realistic enough. Not perfect but fun to play. The players ratings and my timing suffice to make it realistic and fun enough.
In the 20 version, I now suck at hitting, pitching and fielding... Not to mention the ridiculous amount or fielding errors, mostly the first baseman being pulled off the bag 3-4 times a game, no matter what type of interface I use (pure analog, buttons etc).
Bottom line this game should be fun (NOT ARCADE) from the get go and you should have to tweak it to make it harder/more realistic if you will. Not the other way around.
That's my 2 cents...

Don't wanna start an argument about the different ways to play the game but "real baseball player" as you probably understood only meant that by using the thumbsticks in all aspects of the game it feels like you're actually the one batting or throwing as opposed to pushing a button or using a gauge to influence the type of throw.
Such a thing as too realistic
