They are headed in that direction.

Are they going to update all the wrong swing types on the players. Just some that I noticed are Manny Machado has a two handed swing when he should have a one handed swing. Mike Trout should have a two handed swing. Freddie Freeman should have a two handed swing. There are a lot more than those but these ones should be obvious, they are the games top players.

I've been trying to get an answer for this. I think it is a game engine problem. Plenty of games on the Series S are much more demanding graphically. Whatever game engine this game is built on must be very limiting on what they can do or something that SDS can't even get hair physics working on the Series S. Why would they not prioritize working with a newer game engine to upgrade the game graphically and get better performance?

@yankblan I don't know if you've played or seen footage of the last Pro Yakyuu Spirits game, but if you haven't look some gameplay of it up. Game runs smoothly, graphics are way ahead of MLB The Show and look at how fluid the animations are.
-
MLB The Show looks like an ancient relic compared to this. Sony San Diego could learn a lesson from Konami. Don't release a game every year and actually improve the way your game looks and plays. Also stop releasing the game for the last generation of consoles. This will also the first licensed baseball game on Steam since R.B.I Baseball 20. I would hope that SDS would look into using/making a new engine. We don't how this game is going to play on this engine, but I trust Konami.

@S1LENTEG_MLBTS Thank you for this explanation. I know the Series S and X are different hardware wise, but not to that extent. Could it also be the engine the game is running on? I've brought this up before but other sports games NBA 2k, WWE 2k, Madden and UFC have the hair physics and way better graphics. Is it because they are running on newer game engines and are overall better optimized?

Day 8. I would still like to know why the hair physics are not on the Xbox Series S. I am still sending in feedback tickets on the support website. If they have blocked my email, don't if they can do that.
-
I think SDS really phoned it in with the Series S version. No hair physics, the sky box textures and no graphical changes. I think the Series S version is the last gen version of the game.
-
They can't be bothered to fix that.
-
I am playing on the Series S. When throwing a fastball the ball doesn't spin, it stays completely still. Has anyone else noticed this on the Series S or other versions of the game?
-
Still trying to get an explanation for why the hair physics are not the Series S. I've sent in feedback tickets through The Show support website. I haven't been on Twitter since around 2018, but I created a new account just to leave comments and message Sony San Diego. I am just looking for an answer. I'm not angry, just confused and looking for an explanation.
-
Yes, I play on the Series S and have noticed this. It is really noticeable playing when it's a late game and the sun is setting.
-
I wish the Series S had the hair physics so I could experience this.
-
Yeah. I was curious why the new hair isn't on the Series S version. At the time I created this post I thought the new hair was not on both the versions but now I know it is the Series X version and not the Series S for some reason.
-
not every other at-bat being 10-11 pitches long.
-
Yeah I was just thinking about this. Playing both franchise and diamond dynasty the CPU is way too good at getting into long at-bats and way too often.
-
Not having the hair physics on the Series S is weird.
-
That is the main reason I am confused. Just talking sports games that are available for the Series S. WWE, NBA and UFC I will use for examples have hair physics. I don't know if SDS can put the new hair in with a patch or something but other sports games on the Series S have the hair physics that is now is MLB The Show. It's not like it is an impossible thing to implement on the Series S. I'm not angry that the new hair isn't on the Series S, I am just confused and want to know why.
-
I'm wondering the same thing; the new hair physics are for the next-gen consoles but isn't on the Series S.
