No, hitting is just not very good. THIS is a joke:

Two pancakes, a fried egg, and some bacon walk into a restaurant. They ask for a table, but the hostess tells them to get the eff out immediately. Confused, the fried egg asks, "why can't we eat here?" To which the hostess replies, "We don't serve breakfast here."

I think you just have to wait until your coach or agent asks you about it again.

To be on the safe side, just make sure you take a screenshot at each Reward Gate. It's not guaranteed to work but I'd assume it would.

It does get frustrating. But as a father of 2 little ones, I know that I will pause the game from time to time if a kid wakes up in the middle of the night or something like that. So not everyone is doing it in a sketchy way
