Imagine proudly touting a new feature (mini seasons) that you know for a fact doesn't work. If you don't think they knew about the issues from internal testing, you don't understand how this industry works now. It's all about release timings and having enough "new features" for the advertising. Every year there are more and more bugs that fall into the "unacceptable" category.
The harsh reality is they don't actually care about the average player, they cater the entire product to competitive level players. Does anyone really think that if you were to take the entire player base and average their playing ability, it would be All-Star difficulty? BS, it would be somewhere between Rookie and Veteran. And yet, so much DD content was locked behind All-Star difficulty.
And yes, I'm a PvE player who just wants to watch Netflix while grinding content on Rookie so I can mindlessly mash bombs. I don't care at all about realistic stats, I just want to see pitches over the plate so I can pad stats and "check boxes" in the content interface. I just want SDS to get TF out of my way and let me play the game the way I want, not the way they want.
