SDS...you owe us a better product than this...
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

Now I've only been playing for the last 3-4 years or so with this year and last being my deepest dive into the game. As a former collegiate and semi-pro player, I thought that MLB had the best representation of the game of baseball. Mix that with the DD mode, in which I love the ability to mix older and current players together, and the premise is truly something to look forward to. But whatever you guys (and gals) have done ( or not done) to MLB20, you must get it right. There are folks who've played this game many years more than me. It's too early for us to be experiencing gameplay issues that make a mockery out of the game of baseball. We have the right to have expectations that the game will play up to a certain level: Defensive players should be locking on to the ball much better than what they're doing; base running shouldn't be like they're on ice skates. Showdown and MTO shouldn't be scripted: When I'm winning in the 9th, and their lead-off batter hits a routine fly-ball that my outfielder locks on and then "locks off" allowing a double followed by a routine groundball to first where my first baseman does not run to the base but rather flips to the pitcher who isn't covering, you just know you're going to lose. Routine ground ball to the third baseman who tried to bare hand it and totally missed it, again allowing a double. It's hard to stomach this kind of gameplay. Yeah, of course we can go play other games, but this IS Baseball season. And just because there aren't real games on TV, doesn't mean we can have the closest thing to it in a video game.

  • That wasn’t so bad….

As a strictly offline player, I decided to enter BR for the collection cards and hopefully Trout. Took me about a week, but mission accomplished.

  • It was a good weekend
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

I’m strictly online, for now at least.
But in any case, I completed Trout on Saturday, Ruth on Sunday and hit Prestige 1 today. Not too shabby for a good scrub.

I have approx 450k stubs, brought maybe 5 packs since the 1st month after I went all in for the LS Collection. Brought 3 packs, just about to stop, figured what the heck, pulled him in the last pack.

I just started getting in MTO and find it to be frustratingly fun.

from Cardinal Affinity packs. Helloooo Mantle.

  • Does anyone know how to bunt?
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

I’ve been able to bunt with some amount of success. Of course the batter should have decent to good bunt ratings. But what I’ve found, just like bunting in real life, is when you square around to bunt, or drag bunt, you have to let go of the triangle button at the last moment. If you hold on to it at the time of contact, it will result in a pop up or hard bunt which usually ends up an out. In real life, you have to “give” with the ball as it makes contact with the bat, thereby “deadening” the ball. It did this all throughout Jackie Robinson’s missions.

  • Locking in Prestige Cards
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

Ok, 2 things... and maybe I’m missing something but here it goes. I enjoy playing strictly offline and really don’t care about anyone “smh”. I’m in it for MY enjoyment, not anyone else’s. I like blue, someone else likes green. So you’re going to “smh” at MY choice. That in itself is absurd. In any case, ever since I was a kid I was a collector: baseball, basketball, hockey and even racing car cards. That’s what I like about DD: collections and mixing older players with new. That’s why I asked the question. I was concerned that if I locked in a “no sell” card, and SDS came out with another collection, could I re-use that card for m that collection? Tbh, I kind of know the answer to that, but I wanted to be sure as it would be an easy 27k to drop them in the collection even if I didn’t play an online game.

Pulled Trout and Bellinger, I’m happy.

  • Is BR the way to go to earn big rewards?
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

I’m strictly offline, not the best player, jumped into BR about 3 weeks ago, about 10 days later I had Trout. I’m jumping in again for the stubs.

  • No patch, no communication, no acknowledgements...
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

They communicate more about the players Twitch games than anything else.

  • Is there no sense of urgency?
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

Why do outfielders take these extra "unnecessary" steps and "windups" when they're throwing to bases where there are close plays, ultimately making them not close. There's no time to take "Crow" or "bunny" hops when there's a bang-bang play at a base. The user CPU makes these unnecessary animations that take away the close plays, in the favor of the CPU. This has been one of my pet peeves and really turns me off from the game.

  • What is the biggest playable created stadium?
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

NLB Comisky Park maybe…If I’m not mistaken it’s 475 to both left and right fields. I don’t know what it is to center, but it’s far. Reminds me of the Polo Grounds just deeper to left & right.

  • Fix Base running and footwork!
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

Why is is that from a complete standstill, that if your baserunner takes 2 , 3, 4 steps forward, and then you decide that he needs to get back to the base, he slips, slides, and takes 5,6,7 steps to change direction. So many times has my base runner gotten double up. On one play, the ball went to the cutoff man, then thrown home and they still doubled up my runner heading back to first even when I was returning him since the call was initially hit. The change of direction is totally ridiculous and unrealistic. Please fix this.

  • Why has there been no news of a new patch yet?
  • OlSkoolE63_PSNO OlSkoolE63_PSN

SDS would have a somewhat happier fan base if they only communicated these things a little more frequently. We’ve been screaming for gameplay fixes since the release. All I see is the MLB Twitch pro player game tweets and scheduling. Before this it was the Spielberg-ish production that led up into the release day stream.
