That would be me. I played a madden series on my channel and a Fifa series and I cannot stomach how bad those have gone downhill. All because of online gambling disguised as customized teams
Only reason I am playing MLB 22 is because it comes free with XBox game pass but I will probably be very disappointed @Ghostie619_PSN
Since you have 0 plans for Franchise and are putting all your eggs into cross platform (except PC of course, ugh) for Diamond Dynasty $$$ then just focus on that and stop giving Franchise players hope
No news on CPU trade logic, better drafts, better progression and regression or Franchise customization then this is just a forgotten part of the game since MLB the Show 16
Seeing the MTO video, one of the bright spots was seeing a 6 man rotation and 4 man rotation
Can we select that or is 6 man only for Spring Training and 4 man only for playoffs?
Also, are playoffs customized for Franchise? I am 1000% against the new playoff format and would like to have a 1 wildcard and 3 division leader playoff...or even better, change the divisions to be just East and West and have ALCS/NLCS then World Series.
Lastly, is Interleague fixed so we don't play the same teams? Even better...can we choose a schedule with NO interleague?
better trade logic and roster Mgmt. Just because a team has a poor LF, they might have a player that can play LF who is behind, say, the starting 2B. Why not have the AI move that player to LF?
If a team is rebuilding why are they trading prospects for 28 yr old players?
Where is the international draft?
Why don't free agents decrease their demand in August?
Why doesn't the AI grab position players off the waiver wire like it does pitchers?
Why don't we still have 4 tiers (I'd be happy with High A) of baseball with rookie league or Low A as placeholder non playable leagues yet?
and @BlackEagle2407 I am with you on face customization plus the [censored] equipment & cleats being in team colors by default is a pain in the [censored] to change all the time
My main thing though is League customization. I don't want Universal DH, I don't want 3 batter RP rule. I don't want Instant replay. I WANT a league with less HRs/Ks and walks and more balls into play and more steals and triples. I want to relocate teams and make the AL and NL a 2 division league with NO interleague schedule and only a NLCS/ALCS and then World Series. I cannot get that
I also want to see player splits easier. All I see is Batting average and HRs vs right and left, no OPS, no BB, no Ks I want to see how my players have done against pitchers and batters historically over the course of the season for the upcoming series I want team records, I want more league records. I want to choose if I am only using modern day records or since the beginning of time I want better attributes, Candelerio of the Tigers has doubles power, maybe a player like David Peralta hits triples but doesn't steal bases, you cannot manipulate that I want customizable managers and coaches and I want Manager/Bench/1B/3B/Pitching/Hitting and be able to hire them away from other teams I want retired players coming in as coaches and working their way up through the minors I want downloadable draft classes and easier ways to edit rosters
and dammit I want a PC version!
This is what happens when there is no competition. They are going down the road of Madden which is a disappointment to 10% of the fanbase but billions to the development team via online transactions
SdS needs customization for Franchise mode
ability to have random schedule With or without interleague Expansion teams relocation Division and league realignment No DH or standard ALL DH rules NO 3 batter face rule for RP Keep shifts in game, default is to have them off but you can enable if you want them Better sliders so you can have a more hits, less Ks, less walks, more SBs more triples type of league

Cannot mod for online play though obviously. That’s the thing though. People will mod the heck out of it and play online with it. It happens in almost any game that is on PC. I don’t expect SDS to have an adequate anti-cheat system in place.

Heck if they have a PC version with NO online play except for online leagues it will still sell like hot cakes. No one who wants this for PC want it for Diamond Dynasty
Hoping this can be put in as a patch
We need RGB or hex# for the colors
Some of us are color blind as hell
I am ok with them taking their time on this one, but I understand it would be great. I would like Franchise customization first as online franchises might kill that due to programming issues.

@buddyhightower_xbl said in Good bye MLB the Show: DD is fun and it's cool to get all your favorite players, but it kind of breaks the game at the same time. When everyone on your team is a superstar, the game plays much differently. You need strengths and weaknesses to play the game correctly, IMO. Well you put your finger on the larger issue. DD players don't seem as concerned with the strategical nuances of the game nearly as much. Probably a lot more of them are arcade-style players. Complaints and criticisms from the DD crowd seem to focus on button/gamepad mechanic type stuff (perfect timing should result in a HR every time regardless of rating, etc...). Contrast this with franchise players...I have no evidence but I suspect they are older on average. Complaints are geared towards thinks like AI bullpen management, outcome rates (BB, HR, SO), getting things like bunting and shifts to work correctly, etc... DD forum has over 140x the posts as this one, so you can see why their priorities are what they are.

To be fair...MLB is doing its best to make the great game of baseball an arcade version of itself You will no longer see bunts or hit and runs or shifts or strategic pitching changes. MLB in 22 will be HR,BB or K 75% of the time with a nice 20 minutes of instant replay and 10 minutes of checking the pitcher for substances stoppage.
MLB and MLBPA have turned chess into checkers
You hit the nail on the head
Try this in Franchise or exhibition against the CPU
When pitching, don't move the pitching cursor, just keep it dead center
Pitch your main pitch and go through to the 5th or 4th pitch, then go from 5th or 4th to 1st pitch...all dead center
You will have better success against the CPU then when trying to paint the corners
That tells me pitching and batting was tested using Diamond Dynasty and H2H
I feel that way with MLB that will only increase the HR/BB or K boring game
BUT if you want to see how I handled the Orioles on 21 I have a playlist on my YouTube channel. I kept Chris Davis and played him due to his contract.
Well considering I have Xbox cloud gaming on PC it won't be $90 for me, but I will probably try Franchise mode for a bit and if I see the same things from last years game, I will not be shocked.

Also for Franchise it has been mandatory to create TWO setting profiles. Set up your preset for your team and choose manual for everything (I leave scouting as auto as it is so flawed, why bother) Save it as MY PRESET Then change everything to auto and create a new preset called CPU. Assign that preset to all other teams
That way you can always undo the flawed AI's mistakes
