I'm having the same issue. In addition it seems like the CPU keeps trying to pick you off until they're successful. I'm not sure if I'll be doing any of the all-star level stuff. Too frustrating. I play to relax, not get pissed off at the TV

We are getting less than half the content. The "Featured Program" is equivalent to the innings. There are 2 more bosses, but we are already getting cards being repeated and the loss of 30 new team specific cards every other inning. I didn't think of inning 11 as a new content because it was all old content re-bundled. That being said, if the current programs continue there will be 120 fewer new useable cards (cards that might actually end up in your lineup.) That's not even including the decent cards you would get from player programs and daily moments. There is a huge difference between usable and collectable content. IMO there is only one useable card in the new featured program. The rest is only collectable. The worst part is going to be the lack of cards for teams with fewer legends. Arizona, Colorado, Tampa, Miami, KC (we already get 20 Salvador Perez cards a year, but no Bo.) The first two featured programs are 4 weeks then 3 weeks. Assuming they stay at three weeks and there are ten total like previous years were are looking at finishing all new content by Dec/Jan just like MLBTS21. No. There is nowhere near enough content.
I think I'm in the minority when I say I like what they've done to RTTS and MTO, but I can't stand DD this year. I feel like I wasted money on the MVP edition. I might as well have just waited until the price was under $30. I will not preorder next year, I don't need the heartache. It makes me wonder if SDS was getting too ambitious with making this available to switch as well as trying to make this year more friendly to next gen consoles. Is that why it's so bad?
The problem with making a product for baseball fans is that most of us love statistics.

So my current acer monitor is only capable of 60hz but when I go to setting on the playstation it shows 120hz... is that showing what the game is capable of or what I'm playing it at... im very confused as you can tell lol
Haha wow, console people are hilarious. No dude, your device can produce 1000 htz but if your monitor isn't capable of refreshing at it then you will get 60 htz if that's your monitor's refresh rate. It doesn't even matter, aren't you able to tell the difference between 60 htz and 120 htz?, to me its basically night and day from gaming with a PC and using 60 htz monitors and 144 htz monitors.
Not sure if you meant it this way, but you are coming off like a condescending douche bag.

Just guessing, but you probably have it set up as "some" in the fielding opportunities. Under settings/Game mode specific/fielding opportunities change to "all". Too tough for me, but I'm happy to see someone do it successfully.

My player doesn’t have the best speed- it’s was at a 38 and my manager told me to attempt a steal. I got my lead and got caught. Again, same thing. After the game, I was brought into the office and we talked about how I shouldn’t be stealing bases because I wasn’t fast enough, and I should practice stealing bases.
So I don’t even take an extra lead in any game. Then again, after a few games, my manager tells me to steal a base. I take an extra lead and go. Caught again. Again, pulled into the manager’s office and told to stop trying to steal bases because of my lack of speed, etc. Nowhere is there an option in the answers to say: “Hey, I only steal when you tell me to.”
I think that option needs to be added if I keep being told NOT to steal, and I don’t, and then the Manager TELLS me to steal. Then I get brought into the office and spoken to about NOT stealing. There is clearly something off with that algorithm! Make up your mind- you want me to steal or not!
Anyone else experience this?
I think your manager must be a retired catcher. To him you're Usain Bolt. (I was going to say Carl Lewis, but I'm so old I remember when Colonel Sanders was a lieutenant.)

There is a setting for that.
Settings>Gameplay>Control>Player Lock>Player Lock Controller Interface-change showtime to analog
Do it in settings before start an RTTS player and go into the combine and it will carry into the combine.

I am not sure why people are so upset by this year's structure as the amount of cards is pretty much the same. Yes if you do the math the likely hood is there is less packs given away between the programs from 21 to 22 but what are we taking about really a bunch of TA packs that most of us got nothing from.
21 programs - TA 1, 2 inning programs and April POTM
TA 1 gave 30 88 overall Diamond cards for each team not sellable and 30 gold legend and flashback cards
2 inning programs gave 6 bosses, 6 classic cards and 6 gold or Dimond henchmen
TA gave 1 lighting card and no sellable monthly award cards
2022 - 2 featured programs and Monthly Awards
Featured Program 1 - 30 cards available 12 were achieved via reward path 6 sellable, 30 gold legend and flashback cards
Featured Program 2 - 5 boss cards 2 are reward via the bath, 3 classic cards, 6 gold legend and flashback cards
Monthly Awards 1 lighting card and 1 legend lightning card.
Additionally the other programs so far is pretty much the same.
To me the number of cards to earn is the same sure you weren't given 30 free TA cards but how many of TA 1 cards did you actually truly use maybe 12? The same number they gave away....
If we are strictly talking about the number of packs is less ok sure there is less packs however it hasn't impacted the market as it's easier to scoop up cards this year I find off the market that last year would have been 3x the price. I don't see nearly as many issue with the amount of content as many on here want to make it out to be.
In reality SDS has packed more cards into less programs as 21 required 9 programs with 37 diamond cards and 22 has had 3 programs with 37 cards. If you think this is SDS taking programs away from use then we're was the uproar from 20 to 21 when we went from 30 TA programs to 6 that's a loss of 24 programs but that's ok?
You've all said that we got 30 cards? I see 12 in my collection and I finished the first program with weeks to spare. No I didn't use all of the 42s from last year. I think I used Keston Hiura a little longer than the others, because 2nd was lacking at the beginning, but I had all 30 and I think 4? of the other 12 at first. I concede that those 12 90 ovr were fine. Those added with 88 Johnson, 88 cover Tatis, and 88 Henderson (purchased with stubs from mvp edition) was the team I used to beat the conquest map---twice. I also purchased stubs to by packs in the store. Not against that, just will not shell out EA money anymore. Used those packs to do my live sets and sold the extras to invest and finish the sets. Still with weeks to spare.
The next 3 weeks I only played MTO and RTTS. Almost finished all my equipment sets. Half done with Archetype upgrades. Oh yeah, I also did both new conquests and finished mini seasons in the last week. Over halfway done with the new program and I'm back to only playing MTO and RTTS. With 2 1/2 weeks to spare.
There are fewer cards you can get without having to spend stubs. If you wanted I still hate PvP because you will get some kid that glitches or someone much better than you that has no problem letting you know it by message. One of the things I still like about this is offline play. I will keep playing, but I'm disappointed that, yes, there is less content.
Last year I started about a week after launch and didn't catch up until after the all star break. I also didn't play MTO at all or much RTTS until then. It didn't feel like a chore to do moments. In my earlier response, I meant those 5 boss cards are useful cards not the collectable. I only have use for one though. My point is that, as of now, there have only been 17 cards put out in the programs for most daily players teams that you don't need to use money or spend hours flipping cards to get. I'm not counting any of the online play. If you are one of those that can go undefeated online, god bless you. I'm not one, but I spent my money to buy this game too. I even spent extra with the expectation that the basic principles of the game were still going to be there. The onus is on me for the last part...doesn't mean it should be.
How long do you play MTO and RTTS and what's the XP per hour ratio?
MTO seems to be the best. If you hit a lot of home funs you can get about 100k exp in a full day. not sure on the per hour, but if you play on beginner-rookie you will get around 40k exp just from MTO extra points. Add 1-3K per game if you're slamming them out of the park on a regular basis.
RTTS isn't as much, but you earn more stubs. You can play as the 1B do all fielding and (if you're better than me, not hard) steal as often as you can, you can level up your archetypes pretty fast. Every step gives 2-5K exp.
Right now, I'm on season 2 of playing as the Os in MTO. It's a lot of fun.

I keep having it give me 3rd basemen, but not the one with the A potential. I have now fast tracked 4 in two and a half seasons . In addition, when I trade for a prospect it immediately puts it the minors. Traded for 68ovr Joe Adell during first season. He's a 75 and still in the minors. But I have now fast tracked 2 low 60 right fielders. Very poor logic.

I keep trying to keep a positive outlook on this year. The game play, to me, seems to be far superior to last year. Even though I'm on the PS4, the only thing missing is the park creator and although that would be cool, it's not a deal breaker. The card art has been outstanding so far, and as an Angels fan, I'm happy about the representation with Ohtani being the cover player.
I can't help but feel that as a non-PVP player, this year sucks. The smashup of team affinity and seasons seems to give the worst of both worlds and adds a time limit to boot. Where's the cards for daily moments? Getting 1000exp a day is worthless since I finished Faces of the Franchise 2 weeks ago. Still have not done a single one. Speaking of, what am I supposed to do until the next one? I've already done the map conquest twice and have no desire to do an advertisement for Nike that gives crappy cards that will never be on my team.
My favorite mode after SDS decided not to do anymore content in 21 was March to October. I beat about half of the teams (including Pittsburgh and Oakland.) I was really looking forward to being able to continue with a single team for multiple years, but with this version I keep getting [censored] pushed at me. Just now the only choice I was given to "Fast-Track" was a 40 year old Joey Votto. I never even signed or traded for Joey Votto! So not only did the game auto fill my roster with overpriced players, but it made one of those the ONLY choice to advance. I always hated when 21 only gave you one choice, but at least it was a player you could use to trade. A 40 year old 1st baseman? Really? Yesterday I got something similar. A 30 year old 60ovr D potential 3rd baseman. I declined because I didn't want to waste my time. Unfortunately, of the 3 opportunities to fast track a player, I was only given the chance to upgrade this player.
So once again I'm stuck with single year March to October. (I'll save that until January...again.) I guess it will have to be RTTS until, what little, content is dropped. Ubisoft did put out more content for AC Valhalla? I will not do PVP because I'm not that good. There may be people that are alright losing more than half the time, but I'm not one of them. I started playing The Show because Madden was so money hungry it took the fun out of the game. I'm afraid it's happening here.
God help us if SDS decides to model itself after EA.

I find 1st base the easiest way to grind for archetype progress using "all" fielding situations in the RTTS menu. A lot of putouts from grounders to P, 2nd, 3rd, and SS. These putouts plus the occasional unassisted DP or 3-4-3 DP gives opportunities for 6-12 putouts and assists per game. There are still the useless hits to outfield, but there seems to be fewer than OF HRs. After I have all my diamond archetypes fully upgraded I'll start doing the ones I really want to do. So far I have most of the equipment I want and a good chunk of the equipment and perk collections done without needing to sell player cards. It also breaks up just hitting, which can get really boring before you even get to AAA.
My biggest issue is with stealing. A 99 speed should not get caught half the time. Between that and "lead runner" making me wait so long on third for the next three batters to strike out.
I usually play as a shortstop but this year in the new game, I decided to play right field because I've never done it before. I don't mind standing out there catching fly balls. Imagine doing for real when it's 98°.
I play every game, and watch every pitch, for every at bat, when I'm on, because I love stealing. I was swiping bags with 77 speed, and now with 102 it's a foregone conclusion that I don't get caught. My guy is up for Rookie of the Year, playing for the Rangers. They were in last place when I was playing in triple A, then their right fielder got hurt late in the season, and I got called up early. This season we're in first place, 38 games over 500. I've been in a back and forth race with Corey Seager for top batting average on the team. It seems to change everyday, but I've been slumping lately.
I had my runner up to 115? at one point and didn't have problems stealing. 99 was completely different. I don't know how you did it with 77. Maybe they fixed it since the last time I tried. You're probably better than me at it. I go at first movement and have never had any problems before. I hate having my contact or power so low so I can steal with 115 speed. I'm playing first base until I get my diamond archetypes done. Maybe I'll try speed instead of contact until I have my power archetype done...
As far as Your Rangers winning...PPPPPLLLLBBBBBBHHHHHHHTTTT...As an Angels fan, I wish you second place. At least you're not an Astros fan.

I love the idea. I play it, I would like more control of rosters though. I cant play 182 games. So breaking it down like they do. If i could call up who i want and when i want that be awesome
162 full season
Plus max WC, DS, CS, and WS. 173-182 total with playoffs
I also agree with him. When every game in franchise is 25-0 or 0-25 with 20+ strike outs you get bored after 3 games.

I pulled 2 chase packs today. 1 FoF catcher (not murphy or realmuto) and Live Acuna. Super happy with Chase packs today.

I doubt I'm any better than you. But I'm also a bass player so I'm used to moving my fingers quickly for hours at a time. Might give me a slight edge on reaction time.
Awe man, my father in law played bass. He was a good man. Now I think very highly of you. I played trumpet, so all I'm good at tapping with thee fingers and my thumb doesn't move...

If you never loaded the 2B after starting the pitcher the pitcher should already be loaded. If that is the case, you should be able to play as the pitcher by just pressing X on RTTS from the main menu.
