They bragged that they improved fielding and it's worse than ever. They have tried patching issues, but it created just as many issues as they were trying to solve.

I know it's been touched on with other posts, but I feel like SDS needs to hear more people complain about this before they do anything about it. They bragged about improved fielding, but it's worse IMO. If that is their selling point, they are doing a horrible job!

Showcase games matter, but you will still get drafted in late rounds. I did well in the showcase and was a 60 overall. My friend did bad and he was a 53 overall. Might not make a big difference in your career, but it's not for nothing.

I've been playing this game for 10+ years. This game sucks.
-
You may be on to something. I'm like a month into the season on the Red Sox in 2024 and we are the 1st ranked team. Contact, Power, Fielding, Pitching, Speed all in the top 10. We are in last place in the division and the Rays are the only other well ranked team.
I've experienced a fair amount of what you are touching on in this thread too.
-
I turn PCI off. Anything you are experiencing is just this game being stupid. My friend and I play a franchise against each other every year an we've never had as many problems as we've had with this year's game. Swing analysis lies and tells you whatever it wants. This game didn't used to suck, but I don't think I will be buying any other version after this atrocity.
-
As a mainly RTTS player, it has its pros and cons. With the tweaks they've made, I'm personally glad I bought it. Sure, it's not perfect and is arguably a worse game, but I honestly didn't have that high of hopes for many new features with them adding complete minor league rosters (Tim Tebow is in the game). That and it's the last one they aren't going to be focused on making it for a new system. There wouldn't be much of a point for it to be completely different, since they've had years to toy with that on the PS4.

Yelich was a good left fielder, he won his GG at that position.
He's a below-average right fielderI glanced at his career stats. His struggles mostly came in CF from what it looked like. Either way, a career .990 fielding percentage should not equate to 68 fielding at age 28.
Fielding percentage does not = the fielding stat. Fielding percentage is not a good way to judge how good or bad a player is
I can definitely agree with that, but his stats make him a liability in the field. Not at all the case in real life.

I've looked and couldn't find anything. I also don't like the new camera settings. The camera followed the ball perfectly on one at bat tonight, and it was so satisfying. They need to fix that for sure.
-
Can anyone explain this to me, because I'm struggling to make sense of it. The game has a built in audio recording about Yelich winning a gold glove and to not test his arm either. Yet, you defecate all over his attributes:
68 Fielding
52 Arm Strength (Yeah, wouldn't want to test that)
47 Arm Accuracy
68 ReactionThis literally makes less than no sense.

Agreed. Games are suppose to improve. I don't remember this being an issue last year but baserunning in general has been a nightmare for me. I only run the bases if I'm going to steal, so I have it set to only Lead Runner situations. However, running the bases on your own hit doesn't seem frustrating to me, just everything else. I've been hoping they'd fix RTTS baserunning for YEARS! Hopefully they look at the forums.

One more really cool thing that I like is that your max cap on every attribute is 99 now. They no longer limit its max potential based on archetype. Sure the things your not good at go up VERY slowly, but it's still awesome that by the time I'm 6-7 years in I can 90+ in every stat... and 12 discipline.

First off, I'm not sure if this is a thing in baseball, but I assume it will become one if it's not already. Basically it only happens when both the players are really good and have a mutual respect for each others' game. I think it would be a cool feature to add something where you could ask for a jersey swap (once you're good enough) from someone you face throughout your career. And then you could have more than just your trophy case. I'd be happy with them not even doing any in game animations for it, but that would be nice as well. Thoughts?
I thought of this while facing Yelich in the World Series. Unfortunately he's a #@&$ING Cub now!
EDIT: They could very easily tie that in with the relationship feature too.
-
I like that they made it more realistic as far as having to make your own decision where to shift, but a bit more time WOULD be nice. I just really hope they fix the issue of you not starting where you should when there's a shift on. All the other players are in their spot.
Along with people bunting for no reason, this issue needs fixing ASAP.
-
I thought so, but it hasn't worked tonight at all
I lined up in short right field to start an at bat yesterday though. First time ever.
-
If you mean become a free agent and have offers from multiple teams, you need 5 years of MLB service.
-
Oh, right. That's the other thing I didn't mention. I don't use guess pitch. I thought they removed it from the game when it started off by default and I just got used to not using it.
I'm up to 4 diamond equipment and the rest is gold. Ritual, Bat, Glove and Cleats are Diamond.

Nice.
I was thinking of doing achievements as well. So, here are mine:
Hit for 2 cycles, 2 Grand Slams, 3 Gold Gloves (got shafted one year), 3 Batting titles and 2 Silver Sluggers.I might be off on this slightly. I'm not playing yet today. It's been tough for me to hit for enough power and have enough RBIs for MVP. Hard to increase power with Small Ball on top of me batting leadoff more times than not. I'll get there though.
I wonder how many people have read this and just felt sorry for me that I only play on Veteran, lol. Idk how much difference it makes, but I usually only play while indulging in some adult beverages. XD
EDIT: I'm also working on a Plain Filthy pitcher with a first pitch Knuckleball. It's been pretty fun. I only play Rookie on that. It's my "I'm too tipsy to hit" player.

Sad to see they didn't fix the draft.
